Yup I saw Metu throwing ball to the opposing team and he's still not sent down. LW4 will probably spend 1-2 weeks for conditioning then I hope to see minutes from him. Spurs terribly need his defense
The only reason Metu is still in San Antonio is Pau's injury.
Murray's injury means more time on the mothership for Walker.
Metu sucks and should be in GLeague for the next season and a half tbh.
Lonnie should actually be able to contribute right right away once he's completely healthy and has his conditioning.
Lonnie is also our highest 1st rounder since Kawhi and Metu is a 2nd project that probably has a 5% chance of making it in the league. The front office should be treating them completely differently tbh.

I remember reading the mock draft last september. Lonnie Walker was projected to be in the top 10, some were as far as top 7. Does anyone know why he dropped to 18? There were so many scrubs picked before him tbh

Nah. Just bored at work, and have time to kill with the usual cliff diver/know it all/we need to tank/captain hindsight "fans" on here. (you probly fit at least 1 of those)

I don't see why people are annoyed at the idea of Lonnie not immediately getting NBA playing time coming off an injury. People forget exactly how much of his game is raw. It's like those folks who wanted Metu to get playing time with the big club. Give guys a chance a figure themselves out. Walker needs to get his handle up to an NBA level and figure out what a good shot is. There are a lot of pluses to his game where you could project him coming in and doing some good things immediately. But not only does he have so much to develop, but also it's possible he can actually be less effective than the guards already on the team. Like he's bigger and longer than Forbes, but he also has had very little exposure to real defensive coaching, while Bryn had two college seasons under a solid college coach and two additional years of NBA coaching. Just like with Metu, having an athletic guy with no idea what he's doing on the court isn't better than having a relatively unathletic guy who understands NBA defense. The last thing I want is for Walker to be buried on the bench in SA because he constantly s up and gets pulled. Austin worked well for Anderson, Murray and White. Walker's no different.

I didn't know that he got injured before draft. So before the draft and at summer league? brutal
From what I saw of Walker, he needed quite a bit of polish before he could reasonably be expected to contribute to SA Spurs.
Exactly. Like he's the most athletic guy on the roster if healthy, but there's a huge gap between translating that into great performance. People want him to play a three-and-D role, but he's a streaky shooter and an inexperienced defender. Let him go to Austin and at least establish that he can do those things before worrying about bringing up him. I've been on the Walker train since well before the team drafted him, but I'm not so keen to see him that I'd risk messing up his development to do it.
