The refs controlled the last few possessions there. Both Rudy and Marc both played the kind of d you don't do on your man when under 2secs left in the game. One guy got bailed out.

Rudy wtf were u thinking. Game was in the bag.

all these excuses. This game ain't on the refs. If the Spurs wouldn't have had their legs spread wide open letting s go right through them like a sucia from Niosa then they wouldn't have been in that position to begin with. Their defense sucks. Plain and simple.
Sorry, this might be the standard response to an ST meltdown game thread; but this one's on the refs. Did you even watch the ending, or are you just dense AF?

who cares, even if they win tonight, this garbage team was just gonna lose 4 straight on the road.

The L tonight just means the tank starts getting some steam. Lottery Pick and Pop retiring, there is a light at the end of this terrible tunnel tbh.

Spurs would've won by 20 if it wasn't for those refs. This was rigged and way worse than game 2 against the Thunder in the 2016 Playoffs. We basically still won the game by 1 point, but they wanted to give Gasol those free throws.
I didn’t watch it I am just genuinely surprised. Jjj fouled out within 12 minutes apparently. He’s one of the Grizz best players... at least has been when I watched them. The Grizzlies really don’t have much of a bench outside Shelvin Mack who started the season hot but has cooled down and J. Green who apparently scored well but wasn’t good in this game (boxscore only). It doesn’t feel like the Grizz even had their best players available to close the game due to foul trouble. I didn’t watch it but just expected the Spurs would be able to close this at home.

I doubt it. He should have retired at the end of last season and let a new regime assume command at that critical juncture and have the opportunity to mold its own team going forward.

I would amend this to say they both played the kind of d you don't play in the game's first 47 mins. and 58 seconds of the game but that you should be able to play in the last two seconds of the game because refs aren't supposed to bail teams out. Granted, I'm mostly pissed at that costly turnover by DeRozan with a minute to go when we could've had the game under control.

Tbh. The worst thing that could happen for this team is winning.

Why should he have? I'm sure he was motivated too after the nonsense from last season

I mean sure it sucks during the regular season and there probably isn't much else to do in SA....

But why any Spur fan would be cheering for this lottery team to sneak into a 7th or 8th seed to get skull ed by literally any opponent in the West seems crazy to me....

You already got that last year

We had the ball with a minute to go and a one point lead and turned it over. THAT pissed me off more than anything, tbh.

They closed it. Watch the in game. DeRozan nailed a jumper with 1.1. seconds left. Then in Marc Gasol gets 2 in free throws for Rudy Gay slightly touching him. Then LaMarcus gets fouled on a 3 point shot when Gasol is flying towards him touchin his arms and his body, to the point where LA falls to the floor, yet no foul. And don't let me get started on the that went down prior to that

Refs are trash, Bud, no doubt. But in the grand scheme of things, losses will only help this franchise at this point.

If Spurs FO was honest with themselves about being still in a win now mode they would not be having Cunningham and Forbes in a NBA starting line up, let alone them getting significant minutes sorry to say. And don't get me started with Paul and Patty...

I watched the ENTIRE game. I supposed the rest of ya didn't. This team got torched and torched again on defense. That was the main problem. Can't leave it up to the refs to decide the game.

tbqh, Pop and RC need to be punished for putting together this horrid roster. Every loss is welcome imo.

For Pau Gasol, team is thicker than blood: "Yeah, it was a foul. They didn't even see it, or look at it. Especially when they called one pretty similar to turn the game around."

Pop ing needs to say something and get fined

They begged Bryn to come back and likely the only team that knew Cunningham was still around...

Pop probably tried to sell Kawhi on the fact that Bryn was gonna have a larger role in the team this year and "We think we can sign Dante..."

that's true. It was a straight lay up line out there. Grizz where getting to the rim at will and also got every switch they wanted. They said "All you can eat" on every lay up for a reason
