I just wish we could have a political system that acknowledges positions on immigration that are between Trump's and the "no one is illegal" stance. I was hanging out with my father yesterday, and he was watching MSNBC. There was a guy on there who despite saying over and over again that he thought Trump was going too far with sending the military and closing the border checkpoint, made the apparent mistake of saying that the US had the right to not let a caravan into its borders just because the people in that caravan want to live in the US. Homeboy got torn to shreds under accusations of him supporting tear gas and ignoring asylum law. There has to be something better, because the last thing we need in 2020 is to replace Trump with someone just as reckless in the other direction.

The other direction is far more reckless. Hillary wanted to import 500k refugees from inbred countries. They have lots of kids and we have birthright citizenship. Surely that would be beneficial to the US.

People don't actually want moderation. We are a society that loves to hate and fear something. Life is meaningless to people without those things for some reason. Trump definitely knows that.
