I'm in the "let's get rid of Gasol" crowd so I hope he has an uncle Dennis Gasol.
It's probably his quad. He'll be in New York next week getting a second opinion.

tbh his uncle probably convinced him to sign with Spurs. It's the best offer he could get.. geez![]()
Damn injuries have plagued the spurs going on this past year
Welp, that means he won't be back for a while (if he comes back this year). Might make the Spurs that much more willing to move him.
Damn, a foot stress fracture for an old big man is bad news. That's ended a lot of big's careers (Bill Walton and Yao Ming the two most prominent).
Marc Gasol had a stress fracture in his foot in early February of 2016 and missed the rest of the season.
I'd say that Pau is going to have to sit out at least two months. That'd make his earliest possible return sometime in January.
Chance it's career-ending, though, depending on the exact location of the stress fracture.
Injuries plague every team, every year.

It's a long list. The clincher at the end is amusing. Dwight Howard is out indefinitely with a sore ass.
Light at the end of the tunnel.
If it really is a long-term injury, it's hard to tell if the Spurs will semi-tank by just standing pat or become buyers at the trade deadline, using Pau's mostly-expiring contract as incentive to take on a longer contract. Pau has played well, but with enough of an upgrade at SF they can afford to lose him if Aldridge plays almost full-time at the 5 and Poeltl can be a serviceable backup.
Forgot that Pau actually suffered a stress fracture in his left foot back in 2006. He missed four months. He needed surgery for that injury so it's not directly comparable.

Thanks for that perspective. I didn't know this could take so long to heal.
Another Spur's injury miss.
Terrific contract by Drunkford as per the usual. Who knew a near 40yr old would be sustainable to injuries.

Best news of the season so far.
You guys are massive s. We could use Pau right now.
Wow, an elderly big having injury problems. Who could have guessed it?
Not the front office who gave him an absurd deal, that's for sure.
Yes, our bench needs him desperately (Bulls game aside)
of course. the issue is that it's nearly 20 million rotting on the bench (a recurring theme for this team)
So what? It's a sunk cost. We need the player.
I mean, you gotta at least think about what to do with his deal. I'm not loving the idea of trading a pick outside a Porter deal. The team just needs more than a minor trade can resolve.
Seriously
Yeah that high low pass that works once a game has been out of action for a while
