Ugh... I'm in my 40s so New Balance is literally my go-to tennis shoe to wear for years now.

For them to sign Leonard as their signature athlete feels like a kick in the pants.

Oh well, maybe Jordan will match the contract in the coming week.

I'm trying to figure out the Uncle Dennis angle here. If Nephew is healthy, why not play out the season to prove Nephew's health, sign with the Lakers (or I guess the Clippers, even) and then bank what would have to be a huge shoe deal? Signing a shoe deal at this point when his long-term status is still iffy and he's playing in NBA Siberia is a strange business decision.

Wrong. Prime Duncan was NOT rested. Pop didn't start really resting him until he was 35. , in his age 32 season, he played 75 games, 34 mpg, and at age 33, played 76 games, 31 mpg.
The question is prime duncan resting...wat age did his prime end according to you?

If Don Harris wasn't a nobody, maybe New Balance would make him the "Cuckolded by TSpence 1s"

Maybe he likes what the Raptors have going for them and has made a decision to stay. Might as well get the shoe deal done and over. NBA Siberia is looking a lot nicer than NBA Mexico (SA) too..

From 2001 to 2003, Duncan played 82 games every season, averaging around 40 minutes per game. TD was well into his 30s when Pop first started the resting gimmick.
But if he had the same mentality, duncan at 25 would have been rested...same as kawhi...for goodness sakes pop was resting a 20 year old murray that came off a minor injury, and will probably do the same with lonnie...its ok when pop and kerr does it, but unnacceptable when kawhi gets rested after being out a year?

Kawhi IS about winning. Which is why him and Pop agreed to disagree and parted ways.

Maybe Dennis views it as a deal in hand is worth more than a hypothetical one next year. Or maybe he just doesn't know what he's doing. He's already cost Nephew salary money...

Nike is also one of the most profitable slave plantations in the world, only behind Apple and Starbucks. Are you a customer of those brands? Seems like your brand loyalty is in tune with your political viewpoint, you'd assume they are with your moral standards too.

Real question, no troll attempt or no silly reply setup intended because I'm honestly the same way for a lot of brands.
definitely an apple user, not a starbucks/coffee consumer though.

it's pretty hard using your money only on businesses that align with your political views though, the owners of restaurant chains donate... even the mlb donated to the racist mississippi senator who just won.

We don't know the dollar amount, do we? New Balance is not well known for basketball shoes but they are a large shoe company.

Nephew's camp seems to think you can just sit on your limp any time you want to break relationships.

Wasn't part of Quitter's rationale for wanting out of SA was all the awesome endorsement deals that Pop and RC were keeping him from signing?

So he gets out and .... Master Business Executive Dennis gets him the one deal he could have had in San Antonio with Matt Bonner's slops.

    Protocol.

PS to what I wrote above, New Balance has estimated revenue of $4.5 billion, and they're a major supplier to the U.S. military.

"New Balance has been the sole supplier of athletic footwear to the US Navy and the US Marine Corps since at least 1998," says Brad Miller, General Manager of New Balance's Enduring Purpose division (which oversees its "Made in the USA" projects). "We also have provided footwear for the US Army and US Airforce."

you truly a nominee for biggest re on spurstalk if you think 37 year old Duncan was still prime Duncan. A player is usually in his prime from 27 to 32.

There is no logic in Dennis. I don't think he understands basketball culture at all. I'm the biggest kawhi stan out there, but a lotnof what Dennis is doing this year has been comical.

Resting back to backs - The dude is playing 36 when its not back to back. There's practiclly no reason why he should resting this early other than the dumb idea "less games, less chance of injury. He is practiclly ruining any chance of Kawhi making a name for himself just to secure his commision in the max deal.

New Balance Signing - Even if the reports of 5 mill a year is innacurate, this isnt the brand that will help leonard with his own brand.

The raptors have a legit chance of making the NBA finals even with kawhi at 80%, there is no reason to sign these deals now other than business incompetence.

Kawhi needs to realize his uncle is in it for himself or else hes going to destory the rest of his career.

Could be. Its a good sign for the raptors but they probably would have more leverage if they waited till the eastern confrence finals.
