This isn't normal human behavior, there were 2 egregious incidents in the past week alone..I dislike the Lakers and their fans, but I would never try to literally burn Lkrfan or Bynumite because they cheer for that team

There is no such thing as bandwagoning or fickle fans in Global soccer. Madrid fans didn't become fans of Juventus because Ronaldo went there.
College sports (alums) in the USA is the most similiar. Professional sports in the USA is absolutely pointless. The players don't give a where they play. There is no sense of representation.
