I wouldnt read too much into the Raptors needing OT to beat the Warriors, KD had an amazing game, when he plays like that his team stands a chance against anybody regardless of not having Curry/Green. Only real concern for the Raptors would be all the wide open 3's off offensive rebounds/transition they were giving up to Thompson, you cant give those to Curry.
Should have put a * for Curry tbh
This. No Curry no Dray, that's not the Dubs. Not this year, at least.
Over or under 150 pages..this thread by season end![]()
We will all watch the Raptors in the playoffs since Spurs ain’t gonna make it
At least spurs fans would have a team to cheer on until the finals.![]()
I watched the entire game and I usually only watch Spurs games. All I could think of while watching it is how bad of a roster we have.
Kawhi may have been the ultimate in the way he got out but he was smart to bail.
Smart to get out, but demanding a trade and pouting for almost a full season will haunt him forever.
It’ll haunt us far more than it’ll haunt him
It isn't Kawhi who it's haunting. His ghost lurks behind every thread on ST.
in this game, expose thompson...all thsi talk about this clown being a 2way player, not even on the same level as a injured kawhi
Until we get all the answers I agree.
bingo
same here, our current team is affecting me emotionally (on a low level if compared to real problems), it's really ridiculous how bad our team is

Nope... That's ur assumption
I'm really excited about the new San Antonio raptors. We the North side!
Ehh OT with no curry, green, or cousins for that matter
Funny. Pot calls kettle black. You and TheGreatContrarian bring up a lot of assumptions yourselves and present them as factual. Bunch of re s with ten alts spending all their life on a message board. Ridiculous.
The Warriors are one of the greatest teams ever assembled, and they don't play with peak effort during every part of the season. When the Spurs were at their peak, they got bored at times too and you end up playing to the level of your opponent. You could tell that the Warriors really wanted to win last night and the intensity of the game was probably the highest of the season for both teams, which probably can't be said of the earlier game they dropped to the Spurs.
It was sort of a no-win situation for both teams, except for one outcome...
Toronto loses = GSW are the greatest team ever assembled
Toronto wins = they only won because GSW were short handed
GSW loses = they only lost because they were short handed
GSW wins = even without two of their best players, they are still the best in league - look how good Durant is!
That last outcome is what KD was obviously shooting for, but failed to reach. He even lost the jersey off his back in a bet with Drake.
The game two weeks from now will be the better test, at home in Oakland with Curry and Green back in the line up. The Raptors will have a much bigger challenge on their hands, but it will be another game where both teams are up for the best opponent and not playing down to an opponent they think they can beat by cruising.
Why is every game treated as some sort of referendum? We know better than anyone how valuable s bag and Green are and that the Spurs, even considering the cir stances, made one of the most embarrassing trades of all time.
This game was obviously meaningless, but I actually think the Raptors have a miniscule chance against them, if the expected Finals comes to fruition. Granted, their core is still in it's collective prime, but the Warriors remind me of the '98 Bulls, '03 Lakers, '08 Spurs, '11 Lakers, '14 Heat and '15 Spurs. All the signs of fatigue and erosion are present.
The overwhelming star power and absence of another veteran championship team to challenge them are probably still enough to get them over the hump though.
exactly. There's no '98 Jazz, '03 Spurs/'04 Pistons, '11 Celtics, '14 Spurs or '15 Clippers/Warriors/Cavs to stop them. Just a bunch of ty middle of the road (historically) teams like the Thunder, Blazers, Rockettes, Celtics and Raptors. All of which will falter.
And yes, I am also like Charles Barkley in thinking the Clips aren't for real yet. They may miss the playoffs once the dust settles later in the season:
GSW
OKC
Nugz
Portland
Memphis
Lakers
Minny
New Orleans
Rockettes
Jazz
are all better than the Lou-Wills.
Dude's got a great shot at MVP and the Finals, and a decent shot at another ring.
Makes me ill, not gonna lie.
He won't win the MVP award with all the "rest" games and Giannis playing at another level (the clear league MVP).
He could make it to the Finals, but they don't have enough horsepower to beat a fully manned Warriors team. Especially, when three of their most important players (Ibaka, Lowry & Green) are known to the bed in high pressure situations.
