Been saying this since the season started. It doesn't make sense to sign role players in their 30s. Even if they plan on keeping DeRozan and Aldridge, they will not improve but rather decline. The only way for this team to improve is if they sign young guys on the same timeline as Murray. All the role players should be 25 and under, so they can improve their game. That's the only way to go if you don't want to rebuild. Makes no sense to have Belinelli, Cunningham, Mills and Gasol in your rotation, while playing Derrick White 7 minutes. No more military pecking order and glueing them to the bench.

We have pretty good young players now. O get what your saying though. The older guys have been playing way too much. White, Poeltl, Metu, and Walker should all get consistent minutes soon. This season is a bust
Next year we get back Murray too with two 1st round draft picks out youth is fine. Need to trade Belli and Gasol by next offseason at the latest.

spurs need more slashers that are not completely null defensively (even Simmons would upgrade with the roster we currently have), the way that the game is officiated today, made athletic players even more important

which is why I still complain about letting Simmons/Dedmon walk. Spurs also need enforcers and toughness, not a bunch of soft es

Or they never healthy enough. Key role players need to be available consistently at 100 percent . Rudy and Pau, case in point

People like to on Simmons but they forget how valuable he was against the Rockets in 17, his defense on Harden was amazing, they just remember Manu's block.

they also forgot that he was the only player playing hard against Golden State when Kawhi went down. Pop even said he was in a class by himself. That alone made me think they would resign him. He brought that compe iveness and played with an edge

Stop it with the Simmons revisionist history. Yes, he played like a stud those playoffs. But other than that? He’s a replacement level player.

Even this year, the Magic have a zero net rating when he’s off the court (average). They are minus 7 with him on the court ... worse offensively AND defensively.

Just stop it. Simmons isn’t putting you over the top for a le so you don’t sign him to a contract like that. That doesn’t excuse Gasol and Mills by any means though.

New generation of players won't buy in to Pop's military style

The old got's purpose was never to tank. That's why he traded Kawhi for a 30yr old and a protected ty pick.
