who cares when we lose by 30 anyway?
It goes without saying that Tim, Tony and Manu had an undeniable killer instinct- that intangible quality that sets a superstar apart from a regular star. Not just the will to win but the desire and ability to destroy an opponent. These guys each had the ball during crunch time at various points deep into the post season and finals and delivered when so many others have faded. That said, which of the sorry posers on our current roster can even approach that level?
LMA for all his skilkset and size, is a shrinking violet under pressure. Garbage in crunch time as much as I like his game. DeRozan has shown a willingness to shoot in the fourth quarter of the regular season but we’ll have to wait for the postseason (if any) to see if his balls have in fact dropped. I’m not too optimistic about anyone but my picks are going to be Davis B, Gay, Murray (if he ever walks again) and hopefully DeFrozen’s balls also drop. I also have really liked what I’ve seen from Forbes. It’s not a great pool to choose from but these are the potential killers on this team if any. Mills is fairly fearless but is a midget and sucks way too badly to qualify as having a killer instinct unless we are counting midgets. If you’re short and bad at everything, being fearless is not a plus. White is overhyped. Should not be playing in the nba. Looks like a 12 year old/deer in the headlights who will get schooled by the likes of JJ Barea nightly.

Bellinelli’s defense is killing me tbh
Parker definitely didn't have killer instinct... Let's not forget the many playoff chokes he had, and times when he fell completely off a cliff... He is a HOF.. but killer instinct isn't something one would say is one of parkers strong points
The Skip Bayless special. Killer instinct gene...
Make a thread about excruciating pressure and clutch gene next.
Also, Leadership gene. Culture gene. Corporate Knowledge gene. System gene.
Bend over, I'll show you some killer instinct
No one on the Spurs ever had it. Only players in my lifetime have been MJ and Kobe. Killer instinct means you would offer your first born for a le. Spurs were anyways too polite for that.
Hasn’t someone already made this gy ass thread
Kobe didnt have it...he wanted to be the man more than anything...if he wanted a le, he wouldnt have ran shaq out, nir accepted that huge contract past his prime that prevented lakers from signing a top free agent
Manu gave up one of his nuts to win a meaningless game along with hitting a bat to play the game and ending up having to have many shots for it. Does that count?
Murray was definitely talking like he had it. I don't know if he did or not but his confidence and press conferences definitely came across like hey we might of lost Kawhi but I'm still here and that makes us dangerous.
*edit: Tim Duncan most certainly had it. If you faced Tim Duncan in the playoffs then he beat you. No other person can say that as far as I know
Folks were saying DeRozan was better than Manu after a handful of games.![]()
Good take.I agree. I don't know about Murray bc he's so young and frankly he wasn't an offensive player but he's the kind of guy who isn't afraid of the moment and he talks the talk. To be seen next season if he walks the walk I guess and I look forward to it. Was my favorite player in this current team, just my luck that he got hurt. Agree on Timmy D. I think Manu also had the desire to rip hearts out.
Of the current healthy guys, frankly I don't know. If they ever do make the playoffs this season I'd love to find out.
Tim’s losing record against Kobe in the playoffs proves otherwise.
The correct answer.
RC because he killed the franchise
And yet Kobe ran off Shaq so he could pad stats for his ego in his prime instead of winning les.
What a load of rubbish.![]()
Your response to my answer:
(Just saving you the time.)
My answer to who on this team has killer instinct -- Forbes.![]()
Parker's Game 1 in the '13 Finals says hi.
Let's hope Lonnie has it, because no one else on this roster does. Like others said, maybe Patty. He's just at such a physical disadvantage all the time.
Kobe's losing record against Nash in the playoffs proves otherwise. It's not Duncan's fault that Kobe was missing the playoffs in his prime and losing in the first round like fodder while Tim was winning rings. Also I said a fact, if you faced Tim Duncan in the playoffs then you lost to him in the playoffs. Kobe can't say that, he didn't beat the Pistons or the Mavs.
