I put a fat hundred on Spur money line. LeGOAT doesn't try and win games against Poop anymore out of mutual respect.

The Spurs continue on the road as they take on the Los Angeles Fakers tonight. The Fakers are led this season by LeBron James, considered by most authorities to be the greatest got in the history of basketball.

For their part, the Spurs are led by Patty Mills, famous for his terrier-like energy and enthusiasm, not to mention his terrier-like size. As one wag observed, "put a collar on him, and you could take him to the park." All jocularity aside, in recent games Patty has shown a much-improved ability to fetch the stick and chase the frisbee.

The Spurs defense has certainly put the rest of the league on notice with the emergence of powerhouse Davis Bertans, who blocked a shot in a recent outing.

The Fakers have won 14 games, against 9 loses, and currently hold third place in the Pacific division of the Western Conference. Likewise, the Spurs also have a won-lost record, and they also appear in the conference standings.

In injury notes, Fakers guard Rajon Rondo is expected to miss the game because of a hand injury. The Spurs injury list is unchanged, so the usual roster should be available, with everything that implies.

    Should be a good one!

    Go Spurs Go!

"More than a quarter of the way through the season, The Athletic spoke to assistant coach Ime Udoka to discuss the state of the Spurs, their problems on defense, what issues need addressing and more. What do you see from this team after more than 20 games? Ime Udoka: A bunch of new guys that are figuring it out as we go. They’re learning about them, and they are learning about what we want. It’s been some inconsistency, but they are giving effort and trying to figure out a new system. Obviously with DeMar coming over, what we do defensively is totally different from what he’s done his whole career. Guys are picking it up, but guys have been in and out of the lineup also. Pau being out, Rudy being out. Dejounte suffered an unexpected injury. So, some inconsistency but it’s expected with a new group and some injuries we’ve had.

Who has been the biggest surprise outside of DeMar and LaMarcus? Ime Udoka: Bryn Forbes. Bryn has been great. He showed a nice progression between last year and summer league and all those things, but you never know until you’re put in that position playing major minutes and obviously starting. He got forced into a starting role, and he’s been great. He’s not a natural point guard and never played the position in his career so for him to come out and somewhat run the team and try to hold us together with the new group that we have, it’s been great. He’s playing great defense and working extremely hard. Playing a new position with a young guy out there, you never know. So, he’s been great."

Good to know that our assistant coaches are absolutely as delusional as Pop

so three 30+ pt losses are expected because they are learning a new system and a couple of injuries? give me a break. you still have 2 all star caliber players. it should not be this bad. the rest of the players are just god awful.

those quotes about Forbes are ridiculous

They're the kind of lines people would make up and fake and put out to make Ime and the Spurs look like idiots. That's how ridiculous they are.

Welp, time to cross Ime Udoka off the list of coaches I'd want to replace Pop when Pop retires from the NBA.

Mike Bud was always number one on my list but that appears to not be possible any longer, tbh...

I don't actually disagree. If the average Spur played Forbes-level D, they'd be fine. I think there's a big gap between that and him being a defensive ace. If he had Beli's height, he'd probably be about as good as White.
