Spurs finally have some amazing chemistry going. I really want to see him but not at the cost of losing what we have going.
It makes sense. If Lonnie can't dominate in the G-League, he doesn't have much of a chance to be a good NBA player.
Yeah, Lonnie's not really doing much so far. Dude's coming back from injury and still probably getting used to the increased compe ion level, but here are this stats:

The scoring is okay (though inefficient). The combined assists, rebounds, blocks and steals is like 7.1 per-36. I'd like to see that get up much higher by the time he goes to the big club. Murray's was 16.6. Whites was 13.9. , even Bryn had 7.6 while being more efficient and having much better impact stats. Lonnie's younger than those guys were, so it's not like he doesn't have room to improve. But I don't see this as as short stint unless injuries force the team's hands. He has to show he's better than his d-league peers before he should factor into the big club's plans.
Yep he is not coming up as some posters keep saying he will they just don’t listen.

I like how Basketball Reference thinks that Walker's great grandfather is on the team as well.
Got to pump those 3 point numbers up. Don't need another midrange player on the team.
Pop won’t give him minutes yet..maybe next year or 2
Walker plays a lot like J.R. Reid.
gotta improve that 57% FT shooting as well as 3-pointers (23%) and assist to turnover ratio
I'm always afraid to check this thread because i'm anticipating him getting injured again.
Lately his shooting percentages have dropped like a rock.
It takes a lot of practice to become a very good shooter. Perhaps he needs to focus on defense. Become a Patrick Beverly first.
Highlight packages are always deceptive, but this one takes the cake.
I watched a good bit of that Austin-Texas Legends G league game and Walker, for the most part, looked nothing like those highlights.
Looked more like a case of Blake Griffin-itis.
It could be a long wait (but hopefully well worth it).
He's a work in progress. That's fine. He's both getting used to playing at a higher level while trying not to test his injury.
I am starting to question the wisdom of not extending Parker, though. Why the FO thought White and Walker were ready to platoon behind Murray.
From what little is known, they did extend an offer sheet equal to what he got from Charlotte. It was the role he was going to be given that decided (Parker) needed a change with a chance for more minutes despite his age.
Nobody thought he would have this bounce back.
Nobody expected these injuries.
They couldn't guarantee a role for him, which was short-sighted. It was wrong to expect White could carry much load, much less Walker. I don't fully believe in Murray, even healthy.
I like this kid and yeah, his draft combine numbers/athleticism are very impressive, but it's a little mystifying why people think that after a good but not great freshman year in college, an ok summer league, two knee surgeries a year apart, and an ok stint in the g league, that he's going to be some sort of savior for the Spurs this season. He has a ton of potential, but I just don't see him having any serious impact this year. I look forward to him & Murray growing together next year. Patience. This is D White's year to become a full time nba player.
Pretty much what I think.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing both Murray and Walker on the court at the same time next year. I truly hope the injuries did not affect the players long term.
Also, i do hope Pop at some point this year puts Murray in during garbage minutes, like Metu. Just to get some feel for NBA basketball. And then get true minutes next year hopefully.
we can only hope... i was a fan of reid back in the day.
if he's healthy he should come up and play, end of discussion.
Welp, lucky for us Pop says he'll be staying in Austin for the forseeable future!![]()
No problem with « Walker not ready » and everything else but the way the season goes he needs To play and learn With the pros...
Wow, that’s sad.
J.R. Reid![]()
