All you have to do is see a topic on FB to know that the casual fan has no idea what happened. They all think that it was the TP led meeting and the spurs rushing him back caused him to leave. That’s a fact. So I believe he will be cheered.
I think he’ll get cheers. There’s still fans that like his game, and he did win a championship in San Antonio... Plus, he will probably greet Pop bc his issues weren’t with him. Spurstalkwillbe disappointed.
He’s no leader?? Tbh I seriously think he’ll fake an injury to avoid the heat.

I see people saying "He won't play" Well it is not a back to back, so if he does not play, talk about losing respect from your team-mates. His excuse will be what? "I don't want to face the fans".. Yeah what a leader..
Kawhi will play... The dude isn't weak willed like some posters on here... The guy ain't losing sleep over SA... Pop seems to be the one always bringing him up
Not playing B2Bs. Holding hands with his uncle as a 27 year old. The only championship he has currently won is WITH San Antonio, you nugget.
Pop is currently fine tuning this team to play some of the best ball. That's what a HOF coach does. Don't think he's uttered his name unless a beat reporter brings it up.
Duncan ATM will never let the underlying facts get in his way.
No, that will inadvertently damage LMA's psyche. He'll be like, "Why aren't they chanting that for me???"![]()
There's no quantifiable metric that can differentiate the outcome in a definitive way. Some stupid fair-weather fans will cheer and so SAGirl's statement will be factually correct.
I believe that many more fans will boo him. So your statement will also be factually correct.![]()
Need to treat Kawhi and Danny Green like this:
I know better, but I'd love to see the entirety of the Spurs (at least the ones here at the time) bench and of course Pop, just act like he was an average Joe. No need to acknowledge him in the least. He, and his crew, were directly responsible for some serious incoming shade directed at all of them at one point or another. You don't reward such immaturity with normalcy. Shun that mother a. He is no Spur, and he proved as much on multiple occasions.
Also, I hope the team plays their ass off to help DeMar get his vengeance against them. Both games. He deserves that as he was a Raptors homer and was traded in a shady way against his will.
Well San Antonio is the only team he has played with, dummy... And Pop brought up Kawhi in a question that had NOTHING do do with Kawhi, and said he wasn't a leader... Pop is coaching this roster into the lottery, and Pop has also not played players in B2B games coming off injury... U whiffed on all ur points
Spurs have been the ones throwing shade at Kawhi, tbh...
I would quote you on this when the time comes but you would probably excuse him saying "well, if he's injured, he's injured" or some like that.
How much do you want to bet that Kawhi will be "injured" for that game?
Only in your ass-to-mouth delusions, kid.
So Tony, Manu, and Pop weren't throwing shade last year? Pop a couple weeks and didn't bring Kawhi up out the blue saying he wasn't a leader?
Unless he ACTUALLY gets injured, he won't sit out... He has been sitting out B2B to ease his way in coming off his thigh injury, same way pop used to do... He won't sit out for that... He WILL play... And do u have PayPal? I'll bet 20 dollars
No, I don't son. Do you want to sig bet that Kawhi will "ACTUALLY get injured" for that game?
If return shade was warranted, then shade was delivered.
Kawhi sat out and ran from his responsibilities to his team. If you have guys like Tony and Manu and Pop trying to deliver some tough love for the kid to snap him out of his cancerous conduct, then it was deserved.
As for this year, Pop didn't bring him up out of the blue. He was asked about all the missing leadership. Pop responded about which players were gone that actually brought that. Did you note that PoP also stated Kawhi was a of a player and his talents on the court would be missed? Of course you didn't, because in your role as Chief Kawhi Ball Fondler, you, like him, only heard what you thought was a slam. It was actually just factual. Deal with it or don't.
Kawhi is a coward. He wanted to be traded back to LA but instead played his game of use uncle to sheepishly leak shade against the Spurs and then don't ever talk.
That's not leadership. It's the opposite of it, in fact.
I think he'll get boo'ed... I could really see him not showing up and Nurse will be there citing some medical and that it was the Raptors call to not have him with the team and Kawhi wanted to be there blah blah, all that ass kissing they're doing for nothing when he bails anyways.
Is he going to eventually start playing back to back games or is this his new normal from here on out?
He should get a standing ovation. He saved the team by revealing his autism early enough to not build around him.
Yeah, no. The question Pop was asked: "How important is Patty's leadership to this team after the loss of leaders like Manu and Kawhi?"
