I dont see the critics being anti-Eastwood at all tbh
Saw it the other day. I enjoyed it. It's not full of action/explosives/screaming but if you're familiar with his work you'll enjoy it. Critic reviews have been underwhelming mainly because of his right wing influence (immigration, police bias, racism, etc).
He looks so frail and old, tbh.
I dont see the critics being anti-Eastwood at all tbh
people try to crowbar politics in everything nowadays
Vice is getting weaker than expected reviews, must be liberal media bias against Adam McKay & Christian Bale’s right wing politics!
Go read the reviews. The lead in for 90% is all about race and politics.
Lol just looked..a movie ting on Cheney has about the same score as this
Substantive politics are unsexy now. war and peace it's all about iden y horse .
Get Out got praised way more than American Sniper despite being less of a hit.
Get Out was a surprise hit that grossed its budget 56 times over.
American Sniper was still doing a difficult not critic friendly subject and it did really well.
War is a pretty critic friendly subject tbh.
Critics sure hated Sniper while the people loved it...
no
72% on rotten tomatoes isn't hate.
You expect me to buy that critics enjoyed the prominence of that movie?
I think one of the main criticisms was that it just made up a bunch of stuff that anyone familiar with the subject would notice. Bad practice IMO.
The Sniper IRL was a proven fraud and parts of his book were BS- like he beatup Jesse Ventura in a bar fight. Ventura sued and got like $2 million from his wife. Probably loads more embellishment in the book and movie.
I think it may not have been such a hit if they stuck to the real story, but it's more interesting to me. Dude liked killing and had zero qualms about it.
Weird that Eastwood took great pains to dispel myths and tell the real story about something like Iwo Jima in two really good movies -- then went the fake fluffy flag waving route with Sniper.
dat conservative victimhood complex
"So what if 3 out of 4 critics liked the movie? What about the 1/4th that didnt??!? And also they didnt like it enough!!
Boo hoo!!"
Like critics care about that unless it's suits them.
What was so damn flag waving about it? You need rewatch some real those types of movies.
They know better than to give 0.
you certainly don't care that a bunch of it was just made up.
Chris Kyle is dead. The movie was fascinating and well made.
It was well made like all Eastwood films but all the most dramatic parts were simply made up.
It was everything the critics tired of superhero movies wanted in terms of having a culturally relevant movie that is not cape .

But of course they hated it because they are just a bunch of fake prog boyscouts.
again, three out of four critics liked it. I don't know why you declared jihad on them.
It was a good movie; it was just full of fake . That's something I don't like in biopic/historical movies.
if it was Get Out they would have caped for it like a mother a, guarantee it.
With those numbers, hyperbole trought the ing roof baby.
You're the one dealing in hyperbole saying critics hated Sniper. They didn't.
