It's a nice quartet of players to compliment Bryn for sure. Surrounding him with shooters and a strong rebounder is gonna get points.
Mills, Forbes, Belinelli, Bertans, Poeltl.
That's a nice lineup to build leads against opposing benches, tbh.

Our version of the death lineup![]()
Pop hates 3's style but everything is so easy in a game when they're falling. Love this lineup
Remember people here saying that lineup sucks at defense..lol
It does, but against the other teams' scrubs they can build leads on firepower alone. Also, Poeltl is our best defender, so the defense wouldn't be totally ty. Switch everything 1 through 4 and have Jakob patrolling the paint.
Also when another team's player sees Forbes or Bertans or Mills or Belli in front of him he kind of forgets about everything and tries to push his opponent one on one but here comes help-defense from Mills or Bertans.
Actually liked some of defensive positions of this line-up.
That lineup does suck at defensebut Poeltl and Bertans are there so its nots so bad if the other team’s just launching threes and midrange, Purtans gonna defend the paint
Defense is not the point -
opponent scores at will - 2 pts at a time -
Spurs bomb 3 after 3 after 3
i know, but couple of weeks ago people here complaining about mills and Forbes playing together because they suck at defense!!
oh look just how quickly can things turn around.
poeple can easily forget..

Just like Sixers 3pt death lineup last year with Beli/Ilyasova/Red /Saric/Simmons. It is a great adjustment from Pop and is really effective against opposing teams' bench scrubs. Thanks Brett Brown, you indirectly saved the Spurs from disaster season.
Exactly Mr. Skin that's why I waste little time and place little value in "takes" here. I browse for humor and always has the latest news, rumors, updates...occasionally I read some stuff that gives me some different perspectives but in the end no one knows the mind of the front office and as usual if you trust them it usually winds up working out. Barring all the injuries we could be number one seed if the likes of the clippers and nuggets have been able to do it...the injuries are reason why we are where we are. To think guys in a forum know more than professionals who bring in six figures a year and have been doing this for 30-40 years...waste of time and breath.
Pop said second unit misses Pau's passing. He will take Poetl's place and actually is yet another 3 point shooter so they will have a 5 out lineup. Poetl can then go back to starting lineup where he started season now that he's found his groove and LMA doesn't have to play center and Derozan can actually move to shooting guard...White/Forbes, Derozan, Poetl, Gay, Aldridge...Spurs go on to dominate rest of season.
Hey Apa there's your top 10 post...(imitating worlds most interesting man) I don't post often but when I do it's worth it.
So once we found something that's working you want to change it?![]()
Pop does n it'll work...poetl is only non shooter not allowing them to spread floor even wider than already is
It’s not basketball anymore.
![]()
So, what's your relationship with Pop? Friend, family, co-worker, acquantience?
Jardinero, tbh
Just wait until it's Gasol taking up Poeltl's minutes.
Pau doesn't set good picks and doesn't roll to the basket tho, he would literally ruin this lineup![]()
It's Pop's public comments if you followed team. He's not only better shooter but 10x better passer/facilitator
Sorry, but your comment make no sense. For ths lineup poeltl has to set good screens, roll to the basket and occupy the paint. On the contrary, if he develops an inside presence that sucks the defense in, it would open up the Floor for shooters.
He does not need to shoot for this lineup to work.
Actually starting Gasol in place of Forbes would make more sense. High-low action with Aldridge and still spaces the floor, so you don't lose much spacing in the starting line up, while the bench unit still has the roll man in Poeltl to free up shooters. With that being said if it works to play a Forbes, Mills, Beli, Bertans, Poeltl line up, the Spurs could trade for a 3-and-D SF and have him replace Forbes in the starting line up. Right now I still like Mills & Forbes separated but they will have to figure this out as the season progresses. Forbes is a defensive liability going up against opposing guards. One reason he didn't get torched yesterday was Teague sitting out and Rose only playing one half
Forbes marked Covington tonight while white marked rose. Forbes does better against bigger players.
He can’t do worse.
