most people just don't understand that it's perimeter players who are clutch not big men. This is mostly due to Tim Duncan being here and people expecting LaMarcus to be Tim
The lack of basketball knowledge and revisionist history by some posters is astounding. Yes LA has his warts not gonna defend some of the he does. However when people say he's a career loser I stop and think that's BS. His tenure withe the Spurs he had one bad season and one bad post season. You kill Lamarcus for that it's justified it's just that the same people who kill LA for his post season failures loved Kawhi. Now if it's true that Kawhi is a much better player than LA whys it that he's choked worse than LA in the playoffs. This dude the bed 2 consecutive years in the playoffs but y'all still swallowed his . I still say there would be no LA in San Antonio if Kawhi didn't let Matt Barnes sodomize him in 2015. Then the next year Andre Roberson Anally raped the guy. So yes LA has been inconsistent but I have one year of him putting this team on his back when it should have been in the lottery.

Not at all just the truth. Most of you don't know basketball and are just blinded by personal vendettas against players. I'm not a LMA defender but I know bull when I see it.
"Personal vendettas".Why would I, or any other fan, have "personal vendettas" against players that we don't know personally?

No vendettas people just stupid
Why? Because they aren't blind homers and they point out the fact that DeRozan and Aldridge are among the most inefficient "star players" in the league?
You clearly state you never wanted Aldridge on the team in the first place so every time he plays bad you bump old threads on some "I told you so " You have an axe to grind with the dude and that's fine but it's fine for me to point the out as well. Give me pure basketball reasons as to why sticking with that worn out core that got beat in the first round would have been better than adding a perennial All Star?
I don't completely agree with the op but I have to say that a lot of posters seems to somehow believe Leonard left in part because of Aldridge.
We need to remember that Leonard cashed in 20 millions, faked an injury, didn't support his teammates and left the team that allowed him to be who he is, in a move never seen in the NBA.
That said, Aldridge being here or not wouldn't have changed that, because Leonard shown his true colors, he is about the money. And he left because he thinks here it would be harder to get.
End of story.
That's a lie, I was ecstatic when we first got Aldridge, and I was an Aldridge apologist for his first season and a half here. But then, I simply realized he wasn't that good, tbh.
And who's saying that?Give me pure basketball reasons as to why sticking with that worn out core that got beat in the first round would have been better than adding a perennial All Star?
I find it strange that many Spurs fans have a soft spot for Aldridge..he asked for a trade after the team reached the ing WCFshe would have been willing to go to a worse team just to get his touches back..there's nothing likable about him..
Kawhi doing what he did doesn't change Aldridge's character..
He asked for a trade, but then he worked it out, stayed, and came back strong the next season. It was convenient for him that Kawhi pulled his stunt shortly after, which completely overshadowed it and overwrote the fans' memories.
But they worked It out. How exactly did Kawhi work with pop? Also what did Kawhi do when they players tried to have a chat.
There's nothing overwritten. One guy was mature and approachable. While Kawhi was opposite, setting his own standards and he alienated his team.
I haven't seen that at all. He's been mostly despised from about 5 minutes after he signed.
Since he clearly signed here initially because he wanted to live in San Antonio far more than he wanted to be a Spur, I never bought that he actually wanted out. He clearly wanted them to coalesce to his preferred style and probably knew he had them over a barrel.
Despite those things and his obvious flaws, particularly in this era, I'll always appreciate him being the one star willing to sign here.
Suck my OP. Spurs fans are so soft having to root for a career loser. Smh from the big 3 to this loser
This is the stupid I'm talking about if you don't play for the Spurs, Lakers, Warriors or any team LeBron has been on the past 15 years then I guess your a career loser. LA has only missed the playoffs twice his whole time in the league. See these are facts not stupid like " got" or "suck my " like most of the lower basketball IQ posters on this site run to when called out.
this is the main reason why Spurs fans should like him. He's not Tim, but adding him was a no brainer and if you are trying to replace Tim Duncan a prime LaMarcus Aldridge is probably as good as you could do besides maybe signing Anthony Davis. Back then I thought Marc Gasol, who was also a free agent, would fit our style of play more, mainly because of his passing skills. But Gasol wanted to stay in Memphis so signing Aldridge was a no-brainer. People need to realize Duncan's 2nd knee got bad that season and the reason why we were still able to cruise to back to back 60 wins is mainly cause LaMarcus signed here (and Kawhi becoming an All-Star). Just imagine being stuck with a big men line up of injured Tiago Splitter, fat Boris Diaw and David West
Exactly.
Sky is blue
Most posters are stupid
Thanks for the enlightnment OP![]()
We’re just spoiled as fans bc we got 20 years of the best PF the game has ever seen, and one of the 5 best big men to ever play. This is exactly the difference between being a good player and a great player. Yes, LA did demand a trade after a great season but the fact of the matter is he was right. We weren’t using him to the best of his abilities. Also, it speaks to his character that he was willing to actually meet with Pop man to man and hash out his complaints. You would think that’s just common sense, but we clearly it’s not judging by what that ass did to us for a whole year. It’s just unfortunate that his skill set which he’s very good at is antiquated in today’s NBA. He’s not perfect, but Aldridge gets way too much hate from Spurs fans when he literally put the team on his back to the playoffs. Let’s not forget that Manu and Tony were on the team. They’re over the hill and Parker literally playing on 1 leg. I’m sure they greatly appreciated Aldridge manning up, going to work and doing everything he could to get them to playoffs. I sure did.
you and LMA, choking got. He's a just like you and your got thread. Only a would defend that fat lazy piece of . Keep it up and I'll find you and kick your ing ass, btich.
Somebody's been smoking the cranberry sauce.
It's funny how little has been written about the Aldridge/Kawhi relationship. LMA wanted a trade at one point, then Kawhi wanted a trade... As the #1 & #2 scorers, I've seen almost no references in print to their friendship or their dynamic as teammates. I'm guessing they weren't very tight.
He gets no puss
