So you're going to subpoena someone for their opinion? Last I checked, President Trump has no control over the NFL.

sure he does, ducks. the NFL has an anti-trust exemption.

Mike Pence's NFL walkout cost taxpayers $325,000 and was likely staged,

    Vice President Mike Pence’s
early departure from an NFL game last year because of players kneeling during the national anthem was very likely staged and also expensive for taxpayers,

the stated intention of being on hand as Peyton Manning's jersey was retired at halftime of the Colts’ game against the San Francisco 49ers.

At the same time, several 49ers players knelt on the sideline, continuing the protest against social injustice started by former teammate Colin Kaepernick.

So Pence left the game, stating later on Twitter, “I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem” and

    “I stand with @POTUS Trump,

I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem.”

Trump then tweeted “I asked @VP Pence to leave stadium if any players kneeled, disrespecting our country. I am proud of him and @SecondLady Karen.”

The Huffington Post reported Saturday that receipts and folios recently released by the Department of Homeland Security indicate that Pence’s trip ran up more than $75,000 in expenses, including hotel and travel costs and additional security measures.

The article also took into account a Washington Post report from last year that indicated the use of Air Force Two for the trip would have cost an additional $250,000, bringing the total cost of Pence’s excursion to more than $325,000.

The Huffington Post goes on to suggest that dates and times listed on the do ents provide evidence that

the trip may have been a hastily planned publicity stunt about the protests during the anthem,

rather than one that had been long-planned for the Manning ceremony.

Temporary downtown walkways ($2,368) deployed for Pence’s visit were ordered from a rental company only two days before the game and

scheduled to be removed at 4 p.m. on Sunday, hardly enough time for someone to view a 1 p.m. NFL game in its entirety and then depart.

A Pence staffer did inform pool reporters in advance that Pence
might leave the game early, but did not indicate a specific time.

"amyschumerFriday thought. I wonder why more white players aren’t kneeling. Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the police brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers? Otherwise how are you not complicit? I think it would be cool if @maroon5 backed out of super bowl like @badgalriri Did. I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year. I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all i got. Hitting the nfl with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the nfl is like opposing the nra. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living? Stand up for your brothers and sisters of color. And the hottest thing a guy can do is get down on one knee. Not to propose but to reject the treatment of his teammates by this country. Anyone who says its disrespectful to our military please read up on the fact that a lot of veterans are proud of what @kaepernick7 is doing and fully support him. What are your thoughts?"

Without inside knowledge on Nike's business model, that information is difficult to judge. They could have just rolled sweeping sales and discounts

Wouldn't everyone notice if they had sweeping sales and discounts?

That's not super insider stuff that no one outside could know.

The prices are right there on the merchandise.

Sports store to close after Kaepernick protest backfires

Nike's 2018 "Just Do It" campaign, which featured Colin Kaepernick, drew competing reactions from both sides of the political spectrum when it debuted last fall.

For Colorado Springs' Prime Time Sports owner Stephen Martin, it meant dropping all Nike gear. Now, his store is closing.

Martin told koaa.com that he will close the sports apparel store after 20 years because he can no longer afford his lease. He blamed his protest of Nike for playing a major part in the store's closure.

"Being a sports store without Nike is kind of like being a milk store without milk or a gas station without gas. How do you do it? They have a monopoly on jerseys," Martin told koaa.com

High School Football Players Took a Knee Before a Game, and Opposing ‘Fans’ Threw Trash at Them

“Look at these knitters taking a knee and

they don’t even know why they’re doing it,” said one person in the crowd.

On Saturday, November 23, Detroit’s Denby High School was playing in the Division 5 semifinals at unbeaten suburban powerhouse Almont High.

The town of Almont is almost entirely white.

Denby High located in a city that is 79 percent black.

    ...

the white coaches on Denby’s sideline were called “wiggers” and that

“grown men and women started spitting on our kids as they walked up the ramp.

They were throwing food, cups, and whatever….

They called my student trainer a little monkey and they were saying:

‘Who let them off their leashes?

They need to be on a leash.

They never should have been here in the first place.’”
