Seeing this really makes me missed the defence of the prime twin towers. If applied to today's NBA, teams will have problem attacking the rims and shooting a three will be stressful because if the shot missed the rebound will just go to the Spurs.

if he played in an era where DRPM and other advanced stats were used to measure defensive abilities, he would have won multiple DPOYs. but, he played in an era where defense was measured by flashy blocks and rebound numbers (for some stupid reason) so players like Marcus Camby have one and he doesnt. IMO Duncan should have at least one of big Ben's DPOYs, Artest's DPOY, and Gasol/Noah's DPOY awards.

Yup, one of the all time great defensive big men was shunned multiple times so inferior defenders could win because they "played more minutes or blocked more shots per game." Never taking into account opponent field goal percentage or defensive PPG (which were around at the time).

Tim duncan was the best 2 way player since kareem and hakeem. Since the media has always hated the spurs, they couldn't give timmy the mvp, dpoy, finals mvp every year the spurs rang or made noise in the playoffs.
