Shannon sharpe is a clown! Can't stand all the laker love on those espn shows... espn alone has tried to create a super team for the Lakers by pushing their agenda ...they started all this anthony Davis to laker hype .. and a while back Stephen A smith tried to start damian Liliard to lakers bs hype.. and let's not forget how horny they got for kahwi to the lakers this past summer... tired of them creating stories and rumors of who should join Lebron on the lakers

Shannon is on FS1 not ESPN. He's a Lebron fan, so he hypes up the Lakers because it riles up Skip who is a diehard Spurfan. Screamin A. Smith is your clown.

Can’t say he’s diehard Spursfan if he can’t root for Gay, calling Pops overrated, tbh

Nope I would never. What the guy brought to the city, him and RC. Easy to say we had Timmy, I’ve said before others had Malone/Stockton 19 years playing together no ring, TMac/Yao, Ewing, Barkeley, Iverson. All HOF, no ring. Spurs had five, 21 straight playoff appearances, from different era’s, different personnels, small-market SanAnton. Nope man, I know we were more than fortunate to enjoy their geniuses. I now live in LA, and many times I got booed wearing my Ginobili jersey at Staples. I loved it. Someday maybe I’ll wear Walker IV or Murray, but I doubt it would be the same. Still that era already passed and what’s left is Pops, correcting what mess his chosen heir left. After which I think he leaves, but not before. Sorry bruh but nope, I would never bash the guy who brought in so much.

Duncan/Ginobili were gonna get rings together no matter who coached. It's like giving heaps of credit to Phil for Michael/Scottie or Shaq/Kobe. I admit Pop deserves whatever credit comes his way; but it shouldn't be overstated either.

On the contrary I never include Phil in my all-time goats, because the sona were too lucky to get the most dominant players at their prime, while Pops had to be creative signing “over-themselves” veterans, low picks, stashing foreign players, etc. I love Timmy don’t take me wrong, but the last 10 years or so he was wearing brace. Idk but another coach would have played him to the ground. I was having discussion with my brother-in-law, that any of the HOF I mentioned, I’m confident had Pop coached could have gotten a ring or two, particularly Malone/Stockton. Malone could’ve been the best PF ever, even more dominant than Shaq tbh. The guy could bullyball any defender, can rebound, pass, shoot outside, hit high FT. The guy could do anything, but without a ring. As much as I love and respect Timmy, if you put Malone with DRob instead of Timmy, or Malone play pnr with TP and Manu would have gotten rings imo. I still argue that Spurs system is first Pops selling to his best player Timmy for the rest to follow.

Manu/Timmy were winning rings either way, but props to Poop for still ringing so many times with a cancerous wife banger on the team tbh. Porker’s antics would’ve broken most teams tbh.

Jazz should've won in 98. Bulls got help from the refs. And they were better in 97, but they were probably more fatigued than the Bulls because the Western Conference was tough. I don't put Pop ahead of Sloan who might be the most under-rated coach of all-time.

No rings, missed playoffs 3 times as coach. Career win .485 against Pops .603. That would be biased now.

Don't know where you're pulling your numbers; Sloan's career win percentage is .603. And in 98 with an aged Stockton/Malone, his Jazz team beat a prime D-Rob and an even better Duncan to reach the finals.

My bad. I was looking at the playoffs appearance which he missed 4 times, and twice fired. Bruh the guy has no ring as a coach period

Hence why he's under-rated. Or do you believe that Tyronne Lue is a better coach than Jerry Sloan?

Nope but LeBron needed a coach like Lue to let him do what he wants, and someone to blame when things didn't work out.

Sloan is a great coach, but to have Stockton and Malone for 19 years? Don't say it was against Jordan era, because Pops won 5 during prime time Kobe, Shaq and LeBron, including the banana boat team. Had it not been for Kiwi, who knows? I think Murray, Green, Kawhi, Gay and LMA would've competed. And for sure another ring this year with the West shaky and anything can happen.

He had Stockton/Malone but also was in a conference with the likes of Magic, Drexler, Barkley, Kemp/Payton, Olajuwon, D-Rob/Duncan, etc. And when the Jazz were finally stocked, he took his team to two straight finals despite Stockton/Malone being in their mid 30's.
