Sure, especially now that your first contract is very important and can't be re-negotiated.
First and second round picks are more likely to have their salaries guaranteed too.

A 22 year old might be on his first round rookie deal until after year 5. Said player would be 27 and a free agent for the first time.
A 20 year old first round pick would be 25 and entering free agency. A couple years makes a big difference.
But this will all likely change with the CBA expires in 2020.
