These games are the reason so many spurs fans were excited when we signed him. But his inconsistency, laziness or whatever you want to call it frustrates fans to where we would just rather him be traded.

Don't tease us with these performances when you don't play at the same level of intensity every game. I like when he scores a lot but that is a result of how engaged he is in the game. But I hope he can keep it going. Our record when he scores 20+ speaks for itself

    When he feels like it.

Problem is, he has it in him to mentally check out when the going gets tough.

    The frustration is the inconsistency.

Not even the big 3 went all out every game, so unfair to expect that from LMA. Well maybe they would try but sometimes to disasterous results. Lord knows that the nephew didn't dominate every game even before he lost his mind.

LMA not have that steel will of the big 3 but name any modern players that do. Different era.

Exactly. We all know when LMA bangs down low and aggressively posts up deep in the paint, he is a beast. This is true.

Ppl complain he is inconsistent doing that, and spends some games chucking fadeaway 2s. Also true.

But name another big that does do that consistently over 82 games. No one. Because its tiring on the body.

Now the hope is he mentally figures out how to time this aggression based on game situation, urgency, etc. And i think he is getting there.

He's downright dominant when he doesn't settle for being a fadeaway queen. With Cousins injured he's the biggest bully in the post. He should only use his fadeaway and midrange jumpers to compliment his post game, not as his main weapons.

He is the key to any le run the Spurs could have for the foreseeable future. There might be better second options out there, but he's the only one that adds something teams don't already know how to deal with. Few guys can be the best big on the court with Jokic, Davis or Embiid. Aldridge can do that, and he can be the guy who changes the entire way OKC, GS or Houston plays defense. By and large, perimeter guys aren't going to do that.

And I can bet the coaching staff is feeding him that info telling him he can be practically unstoppable in today's nba down low. Why settle for a 15 ft fadeaway when you can get a 3 foot mini hook shot up. Just gotta be aggressive.

Just gotta be aggressive in certain spots. Then whe he is not being agressive on offense, he needs to devote that energy to defense and rebounding. He doesnt need to be aggressive every time down the court though.

If he averaged 30 and 10 on 50% shooting I would have never made the thread, tbh.
