and while i did really enjoy GoW...it wasnt this amazing revolutionary game like people make it seem. definitely had fun playing it but couldnt help but feel it was a little lacking in some areas, especially the ending

i haven't dug that deep into the assassins creed series.

way back when, i had a 30 day gamefly trial back when that was a thing and picked up AC 2. that game was fun as . loved it. once i beat it, i returned it and picked up AC 3. but i felt like it was just a reskin and was pretty fatigued. ended up just sending that game back and haven't picked one up since

but odyssey looks great, and more importantly, massive. How Long to Beat has it about 2-3x bigger than AC 2. this is something i'll probably look into next year around black friday

in the meantime, i'm still crawling my way through RDR2. still doing more side content than anything, stranger missions, and just about done with pelt collecting (all i need is a perfect cougar pelt) and i can get the last satchel. i'm still very early in chapter 3. but i think i'm about to start hitting the story pretty hard, probably just hit the main missions consecutively until reaching chapter 4. i want to get into the meat of the game, as far as the conflict goes. as of now, there's very little in that department.

this game is yuuuge. but at this point i'm not seeing it as GOAT unless you're talking purely presentation and "immersion" which is an incredibly overused buzzword people are using to describe anything in the game that's tedious. oh, skinning an animal is boring after watching the 10 second animation for the 40th time? no bro, thats just IMMERSION.

but i think its still a very easy 9/10 and a must-play for just about any gamer. but imo GTA V was more enjoyable. who knows though, as i said, i just started chapter 3, and chapter 1 was basically a prologue with chapter 2 being an extended tutorial, so my perception could change.

AC III sucks. The sequel to AC II was AC Brotherhood, and that game was amazing. PS4 has a remaster of AC II, AC Brotherhood, and AC Revelations called the Ezio Collection. Not a bad deal for $20.

    https://store.playstation.com/en-us/...LEGACYHD000000

    AC II is amazing
    AC Brotherhood is even better
AC Revelations is good; better than AC III, but nowhere near as good as AC II

yeah i've heard from friends. a buddy of mine was the #1 ranked player online for some time on AC Brotherhood (PS3). at the time it annoyed me since that's when i was big into COD and he used to be one of my running mates, so i'd always get pissed he'd be playin brotherhood instead

Who the thought it was a good idea to have eight boss fights with zero saves? Octopath is an incredible waste of time. I wanted to do it fairly, but now I just want to copy YouTube strategys and be done with it. The game does not want the player to learn from trial and error. There is no reason why somebody would invest hours into beating these bosses, only to die to Galdera. The bosses aren't hard enough to justify the marathon. This is a complete time sink.

God damn Bayonetta is a killer action game. How did I never play this back on my 360? Pretty badass game for anyone with a Switch, Wii U, 360, or gaming PC (the PS3 version is dog ).

Gonna play anything else on Switch or does it go in the closet until Metroid Prime 4?

Gotta say the Bayonetta games are fun and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is a pretty badass platformer. Monster Boy is surprisingly good for an old-school 2D platformer. Much better than the vast majority of 2D indie shovelware on the system.

Turns out the one I bought can be tricked, tbh, but I’m going in crunch for one project and starting another one, so not sure when I’ll have time to play again. Maybe I’ll check what’s available next time I fly.

    PC Brothers in Superiority..

Do not let Insurgency: Sandstorm fly under the radar.. this is a damn good first person shooter.. They took all the best elements of Battlefield's hard core mode, Counter Strike, and Arma and rolled it up into one of a nice package for less than 30 bucks..

The sound quality is amazing.. Being pinned down as the cracks of gunfire go off all around you.. you hear the agonizing moans of your squad dying while you try and pinpoint the enemy (no minimap of any sort in this one).. you're attempting to peek out of a window to get a location on your enemy only to see a large caliber tracer round blow your buddies head into pasta right in front of you is great.. Highly recommend this game

Man I got burned on two very highly rated games, Celeste and Hollow Knight. Haven’t enjoyed either enough to stick them out to see if they get better.

Celeste looks like . I hate the 2D pixel art fad right now. It looks so stupid having these blocky Atari 2600 era sprites with Sega Saturn era lighting effects and background complexity in that game. I love the 8-bit NES era but Celeste looks so forced.

Damn the game Catherine just got rated by the ESRB for the PC. Alone that wouldn't be a huge story (although Catherine is a really cool puzzle game / dating sim) but it's a ing Atlus game and Atlus never ports their to PC. Now that Sega owns them maybe we will start to see their games on PC. That would be huge if it happens. If Atlus games start coming to PC at launch I might end up skipping the PS5 next gen, at least until the tail end when they're really cheap.

I picked up Spider-Man again, and I keep dying partially because I press R2 to dodge. I wondered why I kept pressing R2 to dodge, and then I realized it was because of Bayonetta's dodge is mapped to Zr on the Wii U.

Between that and getting my XBOX controls mixed up with Switch controls, I feel like a ing old man trying to play video games. I've played hundreds of hours of the Switch/Wii U combined in the past several years, and zero hours of any XBOX, but my stupid brain keeps going back to my Call of Duty and Halo days.

I swear I used to be better at this when I was younger.

I know what you mean. For years I had used the A button for choose and B button for back out on XBox 360 and PC and then the X and circle buttons on PS4 (same position, same function). And then I got my SNES Classic and all of a sudden B is back out, A is choose, and BA are in the AB positions I was used to from XBox controllers (equivalently the X,circle positions on Playstation). It took me forever to get used to Nintendo control schemes again.

Dude, I had to google the Wii U/Switch controller layouts just to make my last post. For games with limited controls, like Mario Odyssey, it's not that bad. Octopath Traveler isn't bad, because it's a turn-based RPG. BoTW is still annoying as to play, to the point that I had to switch to the pro controller.

Also, thank God that the GameCube controller adapter works on the Switch, because playing Smash on anything other than a GameCube controller, sucks ass (and the GameCube controller sucks ass, too, if I am being honest).

I will cross my fingers and hope the XBOX games I want port to PC, because I am not dealing with this again.
