He's clearly the odd man out right now (kudos to Pop for it even it's only been 2-3 games) and there's no way he's going to accept his current role.

I'm hoping he's off the team by the end of the month. Obviously you prefer a trade but I want him off the team period if something can't be worked out...

Once it became apparent that the current rotation has to be permanent, they probably had a conversation about being professional and patient while they attempt to work out a trade. I suspect that's why he's playing good soldier so far.
