I don't follow your logic here (Sorprendentemente, ¿EH? ). The Lakers have another max slot this Summer. Could use it on KD or Kawhi or Klay. All those 1-yr expiring deals they have right now in Beas, Rondo, Lance, etc. (will serve as cap relief for a team that sucks and is rebuilding - ala Memphis in the infamous MVPau/Kwame "trade" a decade ag). Salaries must match for a Beal trade to work. So at least in my mind, we can trade for Beal right now, and still have a max this summer.

Rumor: Lakers will make a push to pluck Unibrow from Nawlins before the deadline. If this rumor has legs (Klutch connection), I say scrap tryna get Kawhi this Summer and go after Klay.
