Should aldridge be the first option instead of demar?

It's kind of weird, but I think he has to be right now. I don't like it though, but Derozan is playing like total crap.
Whoever is playing well should be the first option. It can change game to game. At least DDR was happy for his teammate at the end. Didn’t sulk. And didn’t sit, muted at end of bench or rehabbing in nny.
I feel like he has been for the last month. Derozan when he’s not fumbling the dribble, scores and playmakes, so despite really sucking 2 games in a row is prolly more important to our overall success.

I stated just now that Aldridge should be the first option right now because of how he's playing. However, I agree with you that whoever is hot should be first option or whoever has the favorable matchup. Earlier in the season it seemed like Derozan was our "go to" guy with the way he was playing.
^ yup. And it’s not like Demar did not have an impact on game. He still had 11 assists and 8 (one less that LA) rebounds.
Aldridge as first option is a recipe for disaster come playoff time...the guy never won a playoff series being the first option...mark my words...trade
LMA should for sure. When motivated he is like a top 5 player in the NBA. 40 pt scorer in playoff games, can play D. His passing out of double teams needs a lot of work. I think Spurs really made an effort to incorporate Demar and make him comfortable. The seamless transition was amazing to see but LMA is still the better player. Demar is a good facilitator but White is even better now. Demar and White should be staggered until the end of the game. I'd like to see more Bertans but yes, for sure, LMA should be our number 1 option. He's turned into a decent passer and in my opinion not selfish anymore. He actually needs to ask for his number and attack more aggressively but he puts an honest effort in rebounding, hustling, defense. He is a true Spur inside and out now.

Aldridge at his peak is easily better than DeRozan, that's obvious..I don't think the Spurs should change anything, though..DeRozan had a bad game yesterday, but he's been distributing well and the team is on fire since Aldridge got in game shape..no need to change anything, chemistry is great right now..
I watched that whole series and that's the series that got me excited about signing LA in the 2016 off-season. I really do hope he can do it in the playoffs.
Things are going ok but still fragile. We have to keep improving and I think we top out if we continue to put the ball in Derozans hands constantly. Derrick White Aldridge pick and roll seems more dangerous. They can take turns at the very least. Demar is doing pretty good on defense and rebounding. He can focus more on using that sturdy lower body to box out and start the break.
LA is the better player, but I don't think you have to clearly pick who's 1st option. They are both basically 1st option and whoever gets hot gets fed. Spurs system works really well right now and I don't think Pop has defined who's #1 and who's #2
Good points but if Aldridge is better then he should be getting better numbers than Derozan. Aldridge is just not built as a passer/distributor like Duncan was so he needs to dominate the paint get to the line and finish. Pop and the team has done an incredible job letting Derozan handle the rock and get chemistry, but for the rest of this year, Aldridge needs step up and try and get 50 every night. Chemistry was so good even with Aldridge demanding the ball like that, so it's definitely possible to elevate our play better than ever before.
How many times can you be wrong? I remember LMA sending HOU packing while Kawhi was missing games per the usual.
