Interesting that he's sitting out again tonight. Still hasn't played a back-to-back this season despite Nrse saying Nephew was ready to do so more than a month ago...

it's pretty hilarious... because they think that giving him all this space is going to win him over, when instead all he's doing is strategically limiting any chance of injury (while already having proven that he's back to an mvp caliber player) so that he can cash out in LA this summer

His stamina this season is the worst I’ve seen from. He was absolutely gassed at the end of last nights game and I’ve noticed it in other games. It gets so bad he takes plays off on defense which he never did before. I think he would benefit playing back to backs to push him through and get his conditioning better.

What is this guy going to be in a year or two? He probably has a chronic knee condition that will rob him of some of his athletic ability and explosiveness. The SuperMax would have been a risk, but I don't think the Spurs were comfortable sticking with this guy. He is not a trustworthy person - neither is his group. Has former agent Brian Elfus been paid yet by the second rate sports agency that represents Nephew?

Last I saw they were still in litagation. According to the case number there were motions filed in November. Haven't seen any movement beyond that, far as I know Elfus hasn't been compensated. Here's the best part ... far as I can understand, Elfus asked for a jury trial over this civil mater, which in the state of Florida they can potentially arrange in 10 days of the lawsuit being filed. It was filed early June. There is no news to say that this case is concluded. It's going on 6+ months now!!

The winning record the Raptors have in games without Kawhi pretty much kills his chance of an MVP this year. I believe they are 9-2 without him. No way the Rockets, Bucks, or Lakers win like that without their superstars.

Not at all. I have no doubt the Spurs front office royally screwed up by acting like they were in charge and he had to do it their way. Without a franchise player, you don't usually have much of a franchise. Period. They definitely did wrong on this one.

Has nothing to do with the way kawhi treated the fans. Which is what the argument is. Nothing to do with the front office.
They are in charge since they pay his salary. Yes, the NBA is "players'" league, but that doesn't mean franchises should just bend over and take up the rear end (with no lube).

There has to be a give and take with the relationship of management, coaches and players. Otherwise, you have a player hijack your organization (ala LeBron both times in Cleveland and Kobe in Los Angeles) and leave it is disarray once they leave/retire.

As this season proves, Kawhi and his "group" want to call the shots of when he can and can't go (with no indication he's nursing an injury). That is dangerous precedent to allow a player to make without the medical staff, coaches and organizations input.

Clearly, the Raptors are okay with all this since they think it will give them some misguided leverage in resigning him. Which we all know is extremely unlikely....

Ms. Leonard still on the rag, out for tonight's game. She better not make an All NBA team, tbh.

    Yeah,
No surgery. Basically missed an entire season and still not able to play back to back.
He's missed more games than Tony who is 36 comming off a surgery for a quad tear. Not that anybody in their right mind would consider that worse than whatever Nephew had.

So he's sitting for "rest" three days after he last played and three days before their next game? Interesting.

Is he on the bench supporting his teammates.
Or a trip to China to work on his brand?

I'm honestly surprised he's not getting flack for this sheningan. I firmly believe the spurs were at fault at least by 50% last year but what him and his camp are doing this year is beyond comical.

The worse part about it is the coaching stuff has no idea why hes even resting. Nurse has practiclly said hes been fine and has no idea why hes even resting.

He is getting just elementary level advice right now from his camp. Its funny how the raps fans dont see this resting as a clear sign of lack of committment from him and a clear sign of willingness to move to another team

He injured his leg during the Wizards game and aggravated it when playing the Celtics because he was the only one doing anything on the court while the rest of his teammates played like and Kyle Lowry shrinks like a pussy ass he is

you're being too harsh. It's contract year. He's not going out there risking an injury for some bum ass franchise like the Raptors

The Raps are so insanely (and understandably) desperate to keep him they’ll do anything to keep him happy. He could take a month off and they’d be okay with it.

Good points. Any team that pays this guy a max contract is nuts.

He is going to get his max contract. Dennis is in so far over his head that he has no choice but to advise Kawhi to do this. Everybody knows that Kawhi isn't re-signing with Toronto (except the Raps front office ) I have no idea what happened between him and the Spurs but the bottom line is the Spurs NEVER even offered him the supermax contract so just by default his uncle cost Kawhi 40 million. Add on that his genius idea of trying to strong-arm the Spurs all while talking them and dragging their name through the mud in the media failed miserably to get Kawhi in LA, there's an additional 40 million dollars. I know people lie and say that money doesnt matter to Kawhi, but 80 million dollars is a load of money to cost somebody. Can you imagine if Kawhi got hurt right before he signed his next big contract, Dennis would be the poster child for worst manager of all time. Honestly if Kawhi tore his ACL right now, would the Clippers or the Lakers offer him a max deal? Only the Raptors would offer him the max contract he wants and Kawhi would be stuck in the one place where he feels more miserable than when he was with us, Toronto. Plus he would still be $40 million light. Only way this ends well for Dennis is if he gets his nephew to LA.

We had an insane record without Duncan several times... Doesn't lessen his greatness or impact... Not sure why we look at it any different with Kawhi

So when I happens here, it's pop doing it, but when it happens in other teams, it's the players calling the shots? I see...
