Pelosi’s premature rejection is a hypocritical renunciation of support for policies that Democrats once supported and – in some cases – still pay lip service to today.

Indeed, just five years ago, 54 Senate Democrats voted to double a portion of a southern barrier with Mexico, end chain migration, end the diversity visa lottery, and spend $40 billion on border security (almost eight times what the president is asking for now!).

    So what changed?

The person sitting in the Oval Office changed. Democrats now reject the very proposals they once voted for when President Obama sat in the same office.

Because the Supreme Court didn't take up any of the DACA cases, bubble boy. Unless the cutoff date is extended or something extraordinary happens, all the cases decided in their favor stand until the next session.

    Do you understand?

I understand that Dems are unwilling to listen to a three-year extension in return for only a fraction of funds they've voted for in recent history. They're just cogs to Dems, son.

I understand that they're willing to disregard their stability as they protect murderers and rapists.
What is unstable about them for the next ten months?

    Explain.

What is your plan to prevent American rapists and murderers from raping and murdering?

    Explain.

Two years in a political landscape is huge (to say nothing of the personal stability that is added to their lives). I get that you don't think of these things, sociopath. They're just cogs to you.

    What a deal!

DACA kids already had "temporary" protection as long as they followed the rules of their deal -

Trump took it all away for absolutely no good reason and because he is a white supremacist -

Now - trump wants to give the dreamers the "temporary" protection they already had before this clown stole the presidency -

    this criminal traitor.

Pelosi is miles ahead of this traitor s bag turncoat.

pathway to citizenship for Dreamers would have been a serious offer... kicking the can down the road for an extra 2-3 years is a non-starter for Dems.

I think Dreamers might just be better off with no deal and the very likely possibility we get a new president in two years or sooner. I think Pence in a uniting mood might be more receptive to it. You've seen how flexible Mike is on wall funding... was asking half of what Trump wanted from the start.

"Just COGS"... LMAO... This is a pure partisan play by Trump, in effect turning Dreamers into political footballs to be kicked around indefinitely. A pathway to citizenship gives them personal stability... not kicking the can down the road for another 2 years or so to be followed by what? Deportation?

You talk as if they're en led to a pathway to citizenship. Trump shouldn't have to barter for securing the border. He's making Democrats look like the turncoats they are.

So if there's no pathway to citizenship why should dreamers give a about 26 months?

Find some dreamers who are in favor of this deal, derp.

I didn't say they were en led to it... I'm just saying Trump's offer is a non-starter for Dems... What he wants is expensive, inefficient and probably not even all that effective.
