political forum?
This country is approaching 250 years old and has transitioned quite successfully to a direct representative democracy. Americans living in Washington, DC, pay the second highest per capita federal income taxes in the country. They serve our country protecting the ideals of democracy during times of war. They are subject to all the same laws as other American citizens. Yet, the nearly 600,000 residents of our nation’s capital have no vote in the U.S. House or the U.S. Senate.
What in the !? How much longer does this have to continue?

Yup... my bad... move please
Too many windows open
I agee, they need to rename the Wizards the Bullets.
This is a major mystery to folks who move to the D.C. area. I mean our far flung territories have some sort of representation, but the folks who live inside the D.C. don't. It is amazing to me.
I think the biggest problem with getting it is that, since they are unrepresented, noone is willing to use any political favors with their compatriots to introduce a bill allowing the vote in D.C. I mean, it never even gets introduced!!
Of course, you have to remember that the population of D.C. reelected Marion Barry with over 70% of the vote for over 20 years...
I could have sworn that a deal was made earlier this year that DC would get a representative and in return another representative would be created in a very red portion of Utah.
Is this true? That would be fascinating.
Yes.

When DC becomes a state, give them representation.
That right there is the heart of the problem. It's more about legal jargon and political motivation than a recognition of a people's right for representation.
This kind of crap has been going on for centuries, it's no secret. D.C. is a democratic (formerly GOP area, thanks civil rights act) area and mostly black. Except these individuals don't even get 3/5 count as a population group towards congress.
they also only get 1 representative who is not allowed to vote on the house floor
em now all the nuveau rich are moving into dc because its trendy and millenial and inflating the prices
They dont deserve them
nothing gets by you
Weed is legal thou thus why I keep a DC driver license
The Cons ution is ed, and ing so-called American democracy.
CA, 40M people, may lose a rep because IIRC MT had an increase in pop must have another rep.
The Cons utional cap of 435 reps is anti-democratic, which is exactly how the authoritarian oligarchy wants it to stay.

Teach us civics, Darrin.
Then you can answer my question about how it is fair.

White wonderbread crackas flooding dc and pushing minorities to the cheaper suburbs
Fair got nothing to do with it. First sentence in OP is also untrue.

Easy for you to say, you don't live in DC.
