Can a player sit out if he feels he's going to be traded? Do/can agents tell them to sit out?

I realize they were severely undermanned... but White really defended Holiday well. He ultimately didn't let him get on a roll and begin to dominate. Everyone's getting excited about LW (including me) but Whit just keeps impressing me. He missed some three's and shots but the guy is just steady. It even looks as if Gay is warming up to the guy. I'd love to see a White, Walker and DeRozen back-court along with Bertans and Aldridge. The kid is impressive. Eventually, some of our overachievers will fetch us something good via trade.

Pop asked about Walker he replied “some of what he did I liked some I didn’t like he has a lot to learn”.
Missed the game but saw highlights. I think it’s a matter of settling in. If Spurs could make Forbes an NBA player, I’m very confident has much higher ceiling. Can’t wait for the rest of the guys to be healthy. We can make noise baby!

A player can argue they aren't feeling well. But as far as I know, you can't straight up refuse to play if you're fine. With Pop, I doubt he'd play a guy who didn't want to play anymore. Usually, it's the teams that sit the player because they don't want the guy to get hurt before the deal is done. I really don't think it makes sense to assume Bertans has asked out. If he's sitting for trade-related reasons, it's because PATFO is trying to deal him.

Can’t wait for Timvp’s grade on Walker. 5 rebounds, 7 points including 3 pointer and a fastbreak.

Dd his name really come up in trade rumors? Did I miss something?
If you count some random YouTube video - that doesn't pull any top results on Google, then yes.

THanks man. Just tried to find it and couldn't. Hope there's no truth to it (unless the return is big. )

    Thanks.

Unless "that French dude" is Gobert, not sure I'm okay with it.

I see. Makes sense. It was just a general question. I don't believe PATFO is making any moves tbh. Hopefully all is well with Davis.

No Anthony Davis. The curse in N'Leans still alive as far as I'm concerned.

Gay's not all that reliable when it comes to his own availability. I'd have him GTD at best. Of course, Bertans being back would affect it, as would DeRozan.

Just checked his twitter and he had a tiny exchange on the latest tweet he retweeted which seemed in light spirit. So, most likely just dealing with routine stuff, should hopefully be back soon.

    EDIT:
His agent stated in social media before the Philly game, that it's due to family situation. Was expected to miss just that game, however.

Watching this game now.. AD, Mirotic and Randle are out. Why are we saying AD is a fake superstar again? I've seen some posts about it but it's hard to blame him for an injured team.

They also have a couple of former high picks that haven't played to their potential.

On a separate note, is it now allowed for offensive players to take 2 steps before dribbling? Kids getting 2 steps to get away from the defense in transition before having to dribble.

These rookies need to play with more confidence. Too bad Pop doesn't give them the playing time to gain that confidence.
The Spurs player development is universally recognized as among the best, if not the best. The G-League serves a purpose while allowing the Spurs to put the best players on the floor. I don't think PATFO deserves criticism for how the develop players. Lol. We've only had one first round pick inside the top 18 once in the last 28 years.

Yet here the team and Pop sit with record after record for sustained excellence.

I will agree with you for the most part, however, let's not act like they've never made a mistake. The Spurs lack athletic players who can create their own shot. The lack a wing defender who can stay in front of their man. To me Walker can be both those things. I'm not saying he is a solution to those two issues, but there's a fair possiblity that he is. How will we know though if he doesn't get more burn on the court with the San Antonio Spurs vs the Austin Spurs?

Again I agree the Spurs are great at developing players. You get no argument from me on that. I just feel Walker deserves a little more playing time with the big boys to at least see how far he's come along.
