The article - if you read it - gets a little more in depth and actually explains it. You could arguably make a case that the tax cuts were more favorable to whites.
Voter suppression is also. Gerrymandering qualifies.
Not that hard to see that the browning of Amerikkka is actually scaring the out of whites.
No accident that the cheating going on in this country today is being done by Republicans who are making it twice as hard against minorities and they are making sure that minorities jump through twice as many hoops as whites.
(see North Dakota & Native Americans)

The article - for example - shows that more whites are in the middle class than minorities - so when the middle class receives a tax cut - it is benefiting more white people than minorities who are still not in the middle class yet.
So what you’re saying is the article shows that minorities are having a tougher time....man, again, hard hitting ....thanks for the explanation.

or maybe the whole point to create a deficit so large that Medicare and Social Security cuts are seen as inevitable

Ayn Ryan has said as much, years ago. Medicare, Medicaid, SS, any and all govt aid to the needy, retirees would be cut severely. Trash's budgets agree.

When it happens, eg after November, nobody should be surprised.

are tax cuts paying for themselves yet?

The U.S. recorded a $100.5 billion budget deficit in October, an increase of about 60 percent from a year earlier, as spending grew twice as fast as revenue.

The deficit widened from $63.2 billion in the same month last year, the department said in an emailed statement on Tuesday. October marks the start of the U.S. fiscal year.

Receipts totaled $252.7 billion last month, up 7 percent from a year earlier, while outlays climbed 18 percent to $353.2 billion, according to the department.

One year later, an analysis of the U.S. economy shows just how destructive the GOP tax scam was

JPMorgan Chase analysts estimate that in the first half of 2018,

about $270 billion in corporate profits previously held overseas were repatriated to the United States and spent as a result of changes to the tax code.

Some 46 percent of that, JPMorgan Chase analysts said, was spent on $124 billion in stock buybacks.

The flow of repatriated corporate cash is just one tributary in what has become

a flood of payouts to shareholders, both as buybacks and dividends.

Such payouts are expected to hit almost $1.3 trillion this year, up 28 percent from 2017, according to estimates from Goldman Sachs analysts.

What Republicans banked on was that corporations would make initial big splashes,

including corporate statements that attempted to mislead the public by conflating deals already in place,

negotiated between unions and executives, with the tax breaks.

    In many cases,
    those businesses are slashing jobs,

continuing forward with the plans they had in place

before Trump and the Republican Party robbed the nation’s coffers.

Report after report has come out showing that

big business is indeed making economic “history”… with record-setting corporate buybacks.

the New York Times gave this explanation.

It’s highly unusual for deficits and borrowing needs to grow this much during periods of prosperity.

A broad variety of analysts attribute the widening deficit to the tax cuts (along with increased military and other domestic spending ushered in through a bill Mr. Trump signed earlier this year).

    chart-o-rama @ the link:

Where and to whom did the corporate profits go? They were paid out in dividends, stock buybacks, and corporate bonuses, etc.. The benefits flowed to the top 10% of the population who own 90%+ of all stocks and financial assets. Likewise, they are the beneficiaries of rising dividends, and directly received the bonuses. Since '01, the shrinking class of asset holders are reaping the lion's share of the benefits of lower corporate taxation. Perhaps, as European capitals are burning for a very similar situation there, this is something worthy of greater discussion on this side of the pond?

the economy is booming for oligarchy grabbing 90%+ of the gains,

labor in short supply, so ...

More than half of Americans say they didn’t get a pay raise this year

More than 60% of Americans said they didn’t get a pay raise at their current job or get a better-paying job in the last 12 months,

The average chief executive officer at the 350 largest firms in the U.S. received $18.9 million in compensation in 2017,

the study showed, a 17.6% increase over 2016.

    Despite those disparities,

91% of Americans say they have the same or greater confidence in the job market than they did one year ago,

A Year After the Middle Class Tax Cut, the Rich Are Winning

The price tag, though, was enormous: by some estimates, as much as $1.9 trillion over 10 years.

    THE PROMISE

    The wealthy won't benefit

“The rich will not be gaining at all with this plan.”

    – President Donald Trump, Sept. 13, 2017

Feds report that U.S. debt is $2 trillion larger than the day Donald Trump took office

Donald Trump promised to eliminate the national debt within eight years.

However, his first two calendar years in office have ballooned the debt.

The United States Treasury Department numbers show the debt is $2 trillion larger than the day Trump took office,

“We’ve got to get rid of the $19 trillion in debt,” Trump promised as a candidate. “Well, I would say over a period of eight years. And I’ll tell you why.”

The debt now stands at nearly $22 trillion.

$1.5 trillion US tax cut has no major impact on business capex plans

The Trump administration’s $1.5 trillion cut tax package appeared to have no major impact on businesses’ capital investment or hiring plans

84 percent of respondents said they had not changed plans.

That compares to 81 percent in the previous survey published in October.

The White House had predicted that the massive fiscal stimulus package, marked by the reduction in the corporate tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent, would boost business spending and job growth.

“A large majority of respondents, 84 percent, indicate that one year after its passage, the corporate tax reform has not caused their firms to change hiring or investment plans,”

    https://www.rawstory.com/2019/01/1-5...-plans-survey/

Of course not. That was just the usual LIE, eg trickle down, that the oligarchy spews when purchasing govt actions that enable/protect/enrich the oligarchy.

the word is CORRUPTION. BigDonor gets $Ts in tax cuts, then uses small change from those $Ts to finance the Repugs who then do as BigDonor dictates.

Millions Of Americans Won’t Get Refund Checks This Year Because Of The Trump-GOP Tax Scam

Millions of Americans may be denied a refund check during tax season this year due to the tax scam enacted by Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress.

“The rush to write and carry out the new tax law could have bad consequences for millions.”

The report cited one example of a New York resident, Ben Williams, who received a $750 refund last year and now owes $4,600 this year – a turnaround of over $5,000.

while the Trump-GOP tax scheme did simplify the tax code and cut rates, the savings could be offset by the number of deductions that were eliminated, which Americans rely on to reduce their taxable income.

Blue state residents will be hit hardest

Republicans targeted wealthy (and heavily Democratic) metropolitan areas for tax hikes and

also because of how President Donald Trump’s administration implemented the law.”

“millions more households” will be “getting a bill from the IRS” and many of those households “just so happen to be clustered in states where people tend to vote for Democrats.”

a hastily crafted political do ent that will disproportionately hurt this president’s political opponents.
It’s bad economics and de able politics.

    ‘I trusted you!’

Trump voters seethe after realizing they’re getting screwed by the GOP’s tax plan

Multiple supporters of President Donald Trump over the past couple of weeks have taken to Twitter to air their grievances about
the president’s signature tax cut plan.

many middle-class Americans are winding up having to pay more because the bill eliminated multiple deductions used by middle-class families to lower their annual tax payments.

the tax bill capped deductions for taxes paid to state and local governments, while massively increasing the amount of money you must donate to qualify for a charitable giving deduction.

    The

We are middle-class homeowners, and you raised our taxes.

Netflix made a record $845 million, paid ZERO in taxes, and reported a $22 million rebate

Republicans and other conservative economic scam artists like to remind us all that in saving all of that tax money, and bulging with more profits,

companies like Netflix will not only build out their infrastructure,

they will pass on that savings to the consumer!
The service’s most popular plan will increase from $11 to $13 per month for HD streaming.

Netflix’s most expensive plan, which offers 4K content and up to four simultaneous streams on different devices, will increase from $14 to $16.

And the service’s basic plan, which doesn’t offer HD, will raise from $8 to $9.

The poorest 20% pay the lowest taxes, and the richest 20% pay the most taxes.

People should not be getting tax refunds - that's a free loan to Uncle Sam. They should aim to owe Uncle Sam whatever is right below paying a penalty.

Time to Pay the Trump Tax as GOP Tax Cut for the Rich Hits Working Families Hard

“Republicans ran a sort of stimulus program buy reducing your withholding under new tables without the experience of knowing what would happen.

About 25% of taxpayers who had been itemizing deductions will not be able to do so under the new law and

those people are going to get a real shock
because of the limitation of how much they can deduct for state and local taxes…

and you’re going to pay more.”

Trump’s tax laws take away from police officers the ability to deduct cleaning their uniforms, their guns, etc

as well as taking away property taxes and medical deductions and home equity loan against your house.

He also said all of this was done instantaneously.

He said many people will have to borrow money to pay the IRS.

Republicans didn’t phase this huge tax overhaul in slowly because

“Why did they do this so abruptly, why didn’t they phase in the way Ronald Reagan did?

Because they couldn’t make the budget numbers work for the tax cut for the richest among us

unless they hit the middle class first fully,”
