It's a calculated risk for Dallas that I think makes sense. Will Porzingis do what Embiid has done, and turn into a healthy player? Who knows. But the guy is still younger than Derrick White and Bryn Forbes, and again-- Dallas didn't give up anything they wanted anyway.

great move by the Knicks to take a shot at Durant + Kyrie/whoever..
And why would Kyrie and especially Durbeta even consider a dysfunctional Dolan-owned team that now has no talent?

mavs upgrading from dampier to chandler when picking up great defenders like marion/kidd is what made their D formidable, not dirk just randomly becoming better
who said their defense became formidable because dirk randomly became better on defense? all that was said was he improved on defense. no one even said he became a good or average defender. simply that he improved. he could have meant that he improved from being one of the worst defenders in the league, to simply below average, which would be pretty accurate to anyone who actually paid any attention to the mavs

They have a legit shot at Zion and despite not having much success in Free Agency, it's still NY..

Porzingis is damaged goods, this gave them an opportunity to dump that terrible Hardaway contract..not to mention all the reports that Porzingis didn't even want to be there anymore..

Apparently the Knicks got 2 future 1st round picks, too..

The Knicks are so bad that almost any move "makes sense" for them, but I still don't get why a star like Durant would want to go there and start over with Dolan as his boss.

Both high picks. Both are black holes that don't play defense. My gut tells me the Mavs got the end of the stick.

On second thought Porzingis is a decent help defense rim protector, but will get lost on the pick and rolls.
ehrm.. porzingis is probably going to be a constant in the dpoy shortlist..

It’s exciting but not the game changing trade the national media is acting like it is. Porzingod still has to prove he can do more than put up empty stats on a bad team. But it potentially vaults Dallas into contender status next year.

Great trade for Dallas, but Porzingis is very injury prone and was a bit overrated to begin with.

Man the Knicks are horribly managed.

He is overrated, tbf. Although for what they gave up (unless they hgave up the farm in picks) it's a no brainer trade for Dallass. Still a long ways from contender though, imho.

Durbeta is a frontrunner looking for the easiest road. He's not going to leave the Warriors to play with a rookie.

It comes down to if another star like Kyrie is wiling to team up with him to go there.

Contender status is probably too strong. Playoff status is more accurate. 5 or 6 seed imo. IF Porzingis stays healthy and lives up to the hype.

Agreed. Depends a lot on what we do this summer as well. It would be amazing if we could ship Barnes before the deadline tbh

Good piece for Dallas. Now they just need 3-4 more all stars to match GS.
