I don't agree. Patriots in Brady era have never won (or lost) a SB game by more than one score. All 8 of them were decided by a TD or less... crazy. Don't see anything different here.
i just think the rams are gonna themselves

If there is a Football Allah, Patriots win this game.

Rams don't deserve to be here and there really aren't any interesting storylines or narratives about this team other than the age of their coach..

    Brady/Bellichick deserve #6

Nobody that models the NFL can arrive at the current number of Pats -2.5. Vegas's opening line of LAR -1 was correct, but its just so hard to bet against NE. I mean at +3 I would bet them no question

I'll probably be on the 1H Under though.

been on the wrong side of every Pats SB this decade. Had them on the money line against the Eagles, faded them against the Falcons, faded them against the Seahawks, bet them against the Giants in 2012

I can't wait to see what entertaining grease the Patriots escape by this time.

The lined up offside may take the cake tho. That even outdoes Pete Caroll and Toms Medicated Tucks.

Here's hoping for the Rams to pull it out.

Pats still had all 3 timeouts so they would have gotten the ball back with over a minute left. Plenty of time for Brady even if the interception had stood. KC is a bad running team without anything resembling a starting running back. If they had still had Hunt or a similar back they would have won... especially in the first half when they couldn't convert on 3rd & 1 with little Damien Williams instead of that mauler in Hunt.

They need to draft a similar back to Hunt in this year's draft, I would argue it's even more important than fixing the secondary (which also needs to happen).

Gameplans and scheming only helps so much when your team is way less talented. I wouldn’t put it past the coaching staff to find one more genius gameplan, but it’s really hard to be that good (and also lucky) so many weeks in a row.

The Rams are the better team. The better team usually wins. Rams 31, Pats 27

Nah, I get it. Avante posts a lot about random analytics and applies it to present scenarios. But there is a value in trends and statistics beyond raw supers ion.

    Patriots 27 Rams 21 imo

Don’t think it’ll be as high scoring as people expect. Patriots will continue to emphasis ball control and methodical offense, while the Rams don’t have the quick scoring ability they had when Gurley was fully healthy.

Deciding factor will be pass rush. There’s no way McDaniels/Scarneccia allow Donald to be the guy who beats them, so Suh/Brockers will need to step up, and Flores is definitely going to be blitzing up the middle with how mediocre the Rams interior offensive line played in the latter part of the season.
    What's wrong with Gurley?

The more I analyze this game, the more I think that LA is going to steamroll the Pats.

    New England’s weaknesses are:

    1. Brady being garbage vs interior pass rush. Good thing the Rams don’t have anybody who can do tha-oh wait they have Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh.

    2. Linebackers are really slow and incapable of covering running backs. Good thing the Rams don’t have a dangerous pass catcher out of the backfie-oh wait they have Todd Gurley.

    3. Letting derp QB’s like Foles & Eli go ape . Good thing the Rams don’t have a derp-ish quarterba-oh wait they have Jared Goff.

    4. Letting every opposing tight end have a career game on Super Bowl night - Higby & Everett are both more than capable of torching Hightower/Van Noy/Ching/McCurty/whoever.

    5. Pats defense has been terrible vs 11 formations all year. Good thing the Rams don’t run 11 all that much-oh wait they run it almost exclusively.

    6. Belichick has never, in 20+ years, figured out how to beat the Shanahan zone blocking scheme. Good thing the opposing head coach isn’t a Shanahan disciple who runs zone blocks-oh wait he does.

Also, all the talk has been “Bill has 2 weeks to devise a gameplan for the Rams” but nobody mentions that McVay has 2 weeks to prepare for a Patriots team that is far easier to gameplan against.

Changing my prediction to Rams 38, Patriots 20. After warching my team get their s kicked in, I’ll go park my car on 635 and jump into oncoming traffic. Peace.

    Then again...

    1. Chris Jones had 75% as many sacks as Aaron Donald and he didn't do

    2. Todd Gurley's been injured

    3. Goff is above average, maybe top 10 now

    4. Higbee and Everett are mediocre at best. The Eagles exposed how to beat the Rams, you play cover 2 because they don't have a TE seam threat.

    5. They sure stopped Mahomes' spread offense long enough.

    6. Patriots stopped the run last game.

    7. McVay has 10% of Belichick's NFL experience.

    8. Since you're a Pats fan, why not drive to Boston and die driving in the snow there like a real fan instead of being a ty exile Pats fan in Dallas?

Sure, my boys could shock me and pull out a W, but I just don’t see it.

Among the more credible group football analysts, who aren’t media blowhards but do actual analysis, there’s basically only 2 different conclusions. One is “I’m picking the Rams because they’re a better team that is a matchup nightmare for the Patriots”. The other is “The Rams are a better team, but I’m picking the Patriots because of Belichick.” Strict X’s and O’s analysis heavily favors the Rams, the only reason given to pick New England is the nebulous “because they’re the Patriots”.

And I’d probably enjoy Boston enough to regain the will to live, so I’ll just stay in depressing as Dallas to make sure I end it all.

Interesting / Irrelevant stat: Patriots have only scored 3 points in all 1st quarters of their SBs combined under Brady/Bellichick.

The perspective holds merit considering Montana's career as a 49er ended with a brutal hit. Joe would have completed a 3-Peat in the midst of 1980-90s NFC; the golden age of the NFL

Don't think you'll be enjoying Boston when it's -20 degrees and the roads are iced over, tbh.
