I don’t think they were playing for the FG, they were trying to do what they did early against the Chiefs but they’re not playing the Chiefs historically ty run D anymore so it clearly didn’t work.

I think they need to dominate time of possession if the defense is going to play well. It seems like Belichick/Flores have a certain amount of rabbits they can pull out of their hat on defense but after so many plays McVay can adjust and the giant talent disparity will be exposed.
