I didn't even know we had a teamthey are not doing very well at advertising it tbh
Figured I'd toss this in the Spurs forum since most of the SA natives hang out here. For those that don't know SA has an AAF team and the season starts this weekend. The first two games are at the Alamodome. Anyone going to check it out? Tickets are pretty cheap tbh.

There's a few names I recognize on the roster it's basically a bunch of cast offs. As far as the games go, they've shortened the play clock to pick up the pace and there are no kickoffs. They apparently have cut out commercial time outs to speed the game up. We'll see. I'll likely give a go for a few weeks to see if it's better than ing terrible(probably not).

Alamodome
we finally got our football team
Some pricey ass tickets tbh for what you get but better than watching a game at Alamo Stadium in this weather.
another minor leauge team just reaffirms the need for the spurs to move to austin...........sa = minor league teams/rampage/safc/missions...... austin = major league teams
What are Austin's major league teams?
Soccer three years from now?
Got tickets, should be fun seeing little mexico root for a football team

got eem
I was planning on going to some games but they inexplicably cut UTSA's GOAT QB Dalton Sturm aka Dalton Football so I'm boycotting. I might watch from home though.
The Whorns are the only professional team in Austin.
Haha some Cowboys fans on the Cowboys site I post on used to be so big on the prospect of Dustin Vaughn (kind of like everyone is now with Mike White). Looks like there's some other Cowboys/NFL castoffs on the roster I recognize a couple of TAMU names, Trey Williams was a good college running back, wanna say Cameron Clear made it on someone's practice squad or played in the NFL at some point.
Actually a surprising amount of fringe NFL talent (at some point) on the squad.
Right but Austin seems to be trending that way. Something happened over the last 5 or 10 years where Austin turned the corner and stole SAs shine. Sad but true. The US hates SA but has embraced Austin and everyone knows it. Lots of things wrong with SA.
Meh. SA was always a backwater pro sports owners could cite as a potential landing spot to get better deals from other cities. Of course Austin is the shiny new market with tons of money, but the people here tired of handouts a couple years back. They didn't care about Amazon HQ2 and got a ton of concessions out of the MLS owner before letting him start a team in his second choice for a stadium site.
Austin might be able to support the Spurs at some point in the future if they move and an arena gets built in the right place. MLB or NFL? No way Austin gives those owners what they're used to. Anything like that would end up being a regional team located north or south of Austin proper.
I see no reason for Austin to get a team. I like that SA is close enough to where I can drive down and see a game if I want to but still far enough away to where I don't have to deal with gameday traffic or associated taxes.
+1 !!!
Going to the 'ship !!!!
Undefeated so far. In all honesty, I watched about 85% of the game and I was surprised. It was actually entertaining.
Lol a real points fest
I was flipping between this game and the Clipper game and I have to say, it wasn't bad football at all. It looked like the refs were actually letting them play on defense, unlike the pussified NFL. Also, mic'ing up everyone, even the replay booth in real time, is a nice touch.
Only watched 10-15 mins but I liked it.
Was at the game, I'm by no mean a huge football fan, but the game was very entertaining. Hopefully this league survives.
I like competent offenses and this ain’t it for me. It’s gonna be a no from me dawg.
