Democratic focus groups may have identified a hidden vulnerability for Trash

Democrats and progressives believe they may have found a way

to unmask that sham populist pivot.

And their developing counterargument involves not one, but two, of the issues on which Trump will build his case for reelection:

    prescription drugs

    and

    trade.
    found that

working-class white voters who switched from Barack Obama to Trump are deeply angry about soaring prescription drug prices.

As a result, they vehemently oppose a key provision benefiting Big Pharma at the core of Trump’s renegotiation of NAFTA — which he touts as proof that he’s delivering for his working-class white base.

The most striking finding, according to Greenberg’s memo, was

that arguments about the Big Pharma provision were “game changing.”

    the rewrite also
expands patent protections for some pharmaceutical drugs to 10 years, shielding them from generic compe ion.

    Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)
    put it, the new

NAFTA is “stuffed with handouts that will let big drug companies lock in the high prices

they charge for many drugs,” gouging “seniors and anyone else who needs access to life-saving medicine.”

    voters “hate” pharmaceutical companies

    and are

deeply convinced that high drug prices are the result of their political influence.

    this debate

links corporate power directly to soaring medical costs,

providing a gateway to a larger argument about the ability of big corporations to rig market rules in their favor.

    voters, Greenberg noted,

“especially distrust the way that corporations bend the system to their will,”

with lobbyists and big campaign donations,

“so that they can earn more profits while hurting workers and consumers.”

surprised by the depth of emotion about pharmaceutical companies and drug prices, noting that they

“emerged as an extraordinary point of anger.”

The result: Pointing to the Big Pharma provision cons utes the “single most powerful argument” against Trump’s NAFTA rewrite.

Trump campaigned on the idea that the economy and political system are “rigged” for the rich.

    But as president,

Trump enthusiastically embraced plutocratic GOP economic orthodoxy,

with massive corporate tax cuts and

    a deregulation rampage
benefiting actors such as predatory lenders.

Trump, if anything, further rigged the system for the wealthy,

Trump’s actual record gives Democrats a major opening to

    campaign on a
progressive unrigging of our political economy,

    with proposals such as
    revived an rust,

    corporate governance reform,

a more progressive tax code —

    and
    a more progressive NAFTA rewrite,

with tougher enforcement of labor standards and no Big Pharma giveaway.

the “message framework” on NAFTA and drug prices reinforced

a creeping “doubt” about Trump among some of these voters that

he is “looking out for rich CEOs and business executives like himself.”

they may be open to the argument that

Trump is helping them further rig the system — and that

his vow to take on powerful, entrenched corporate and financial interests

turned out to be nothing but a big scam.

I don't trust the Dem establishment, owed by the same oligarchy as the Repugs, will

iow, nothing will change, America will continue to decline, ed and un able.

I recall that the Dem establishment told candidate for the 2018 midterms that they were "free" run on issues of their choice, for their cons uency.

And those Dems candidates kicked ing ass.

Did the Dem establishment learn any lesson? I bet not, BigDonor rules them.

90% of Repugs still approve Trash.

And we'll see if those 100 Dem women and other Dems have any serious impact.

The insanely successful oligarchy strategy has been executed for 45 years.

Senate panel OKs 44 Trump judicial nominees

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/p...icial-nominees

Among those approved by the committee are two, Bridget Bade and Eric Miller, to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, considered the country’s most liberal circuit court. There are currently six vacancies on the San Francisco-based court, and if Trump fills all of the empty seats, it will bring the 9th Circuit closer to parity, with 13 judges appointed by Republicans and 16 appointed by Democrats.

‘My whole town practically lived there’:

From Costa Rica to New Jersey,

a pipeline of illegal workers for Trump goes back years

Angulo learned to drive backhoes and bulldozers, carving water hazards and tee boxes out of former horse pastures in Bedminster, N.J.,

where a famous New Yorker was building a world-class course.

    Angulo earned $8 an hour,

a fraction of what a state-licensed heavy equipment operator would make,

with no benefits or overtime pay.

But he stayed seven years on the grounds crew, saving enough for a small piece of land and some cattle back home.

Now the 34-year-old lives with his wife and daughters in a sturdy house built by “Trump money,” as he put it, with a porch to watch the sun go down.

It’s a common story in this small town.

Other former employees of President Trump’s company live nearby:

men who once raked the sand traps and

pushed mowers through thick heat on Trump’s prized golf property —

the “Summer White House,” as aides have called it —

where his daughter Ivanka got married and where he wants to build a family cemetery.

“Many of us helped him get what he has today,” Angulo said.

“This golf course was built by illegals.”

Trump's clubs recruited, employed and exploited undo ented workers. For years.

Illegals, in the modern parlance. Rapists, gangsters, disease riddled moochers and bad hombres in Trump's words.

One wonders why he would endanger his own dues paying members like that.

... same team, and Repugs in general, that wants to punish employers for hiring illegals.

But too many Trash-type employers of illegals are Repug, which explains why Repugs, like Trash, use illegals as an base-inflaming racist campaign issue, but never pass immigration reform.

no doubt there is, corporate plutocrats like Pelosi running the party to protect political donors is a definite problem, one that the right wing shares.

fact is, you have no idea who Pelosi hires to do her lawn.

with Trump, we know this happened.

people were making a lot of noise about that four years ago.

since she's in the line of sucession it would still be normatively appropriate, had Trump not broken the norm.

I'd be for both of them revealing their returns despite the fact the norm is effectively dead. I won't hold my breath for either one to do the right thing.

you're fluffing tbh. trump calling out the crooks on the left for what they are isn't fluffing anything... she's a face that's ridden on a lie for decades and that's what you should be upset about and not about a tweet calling that dumb out. as well, nothing about that tweet was racist; was it directed towards a native american? hahahaha
