Let me be clear And yet, historically they've been the team that had trouble keeping players. They're clearly going all in this year as they made clear in the recent trade period. Going all in for AD and then ultimately getting Gasol show me they are screwed when Kawhitter leaves. Gasol is owed $25M player option next year and has a $10M trade kicker. They reportedly tried to trade Lowry who will be likely request a trade this offseason since he's reportedly unhappy. And even if he stays he's owed $33.3M. And they've traded all but 1 of their second round draft picks through 2024 plus this year's #1.

Well once it was clear he wanted out and we were losing him regardless, it didn't set us back one bit. We got screwed by Kawhi hard with his BS trying to force his way to one city. So getting a first plus Poeltl, and the cheaper version between Lowry and DeRozan were wins.

What future? 1 year of Kawhi is better than 2 years of Demar. If we had
traded Siakam sure. But the Spurs got nothing of value.
