Very disappointing coming off a 4 game losing streak and a must win game. The Grizz in the 1st couldn't miss and were scrappy on defense. Once Spurs caught the Grizz and pushed their lead to double digits that should of been game set match....
Agreed

They have 10 days to fix things, after all star weekend things will get grimey
Yes, DeRozan at least makes the effort to get others involved. He at least has the physical skills to warrant taking a high okume of shots over that little engine that can't.
As a Spur fan since 2000 I always love a W. But man, we need to get rid of Derozan. Dude is just a low IQ player tbh.
The most inefficient shooter on the team takes the most shots , plays the most minutes and doesn't play defense.
Spurs: "Hold my beer"

Kawhi's revenge game coming up. The moment the lead gets to double digits against us, I'm not watching the rest of that public execution. I'm not giving that piece of the satisfaction.
I just want to know what changed for DeMar from the beginning of the season to what's going on now??? He was a stud for the first few months and now he's nowhere near the kind of player he was.
I would seriously just punt that game. Rest everybody. We already got our win. No need to give them revenge.![]()
Lost in all the complaining about how bad a win that was - I agree it was tough seeing them struggle to beat a (and tanking) Grizzlies team - was Rudy's stout defense at the end. On two consecutive defensive positions he defended Jonas and Triple J extremely well.
The team needs to pull the trigger and dump Pondexter (way overdue) to bring in Huestis. They have a lot of "offensive minded" players but absolutely no one (minus White) that can consistently defend.
Anyway, I hope the players rest up and are ready for the last stretch of the season after the all-star break. They are gonna have bring a better, more focused effort otherwise it'll be a repeat of last year (swept in 1st round).
10 days rest isn't enough?
Derozan isn't going to want to miss that game.
Not sure, tbh. He's looked less explosive, a step slower and a lot less sure of himself on offense. Ever since the "revenge game" against Toronto he's been mediocre or worse.
It could be fatigue or injury related, but the team needs him to get back to his all-star form. He's become a "net negative" player (ala Tony in his bad years) since he's primarily an offensive minded player.
Demar and Derrick need the break more than anyone else, right now.
He'll spend the whole 4th quarter taking in the sympathy cheers from the fans while sitting on the bench instead of watching LDN swatting away the hot garbage shots taken by Forbes. He could also strike up a conversation with a fan so he can ignore Pop making jokes about not buying anyone out to improve the team.
Agreed. Any knowledgeable fan knows making DeRozan your go to is recipe for failure.
scary thought. like others posted, the coach going to have to lay down some cold hard truth and get on the same page as Demar.
Pop has to consider his mental state and keep in mind Raptors are next game up so im not sure how he going handle it. Spurs cant win tbh, they are invested in Depression.
Demar looks sad on the court too. The negative body language is obvious. The basketball court is your escape. Demar treats it differently.
Pop: "The best part of the game was that they just kept playing. The effort was great the whole game. We are trying to figure it out, point guard by committee, and lots of times we are a little bit discombobulated. But they stuck with it. They hung together."![]()
Demar saving his game for Toronto game..lol
Spurs needed that win. But man that was a demoralizing win. This team looks old and sluggish because they are.

Not trying to be rude but it could be they changed his medicine I have a lot of vet friends that suffer from PTSD and depression and the amount of pills they take is amazing.

A much needed win. Often the first win to break a losing streak is the hardest.
