Yep. I like Rudy as a player. People thinking that he's going to sign for $5M per season, so that he gets to retire a Spur? Yeah, no. I don't think they'll give him 3/60, but I can sure see them handing him something like 3/36, with the last year part guaranteed like Pau's deal. I like him, but I wouldn't throw that at him when they have young talent to develop.
With his comments about building character and how long that takes, you do have to wonder how long he thinks he'll be in the league. Right now he's at exactly the same point in his career that Grant Hill was in when he went to Phoenix, and Hill stayed healthy for three more seasons. Rudy only played 30 games in '16-'17, and 56 games last season. If he has three healthy years ahead, I'd say that's about all he or the Spurs could hope for.
