Kawhi looked better on offense (especially from 3, he took off on the jump not even facing the basket on a couple), but wayyy worse on D in the ASG this year. He registered no steals also, when on the Spurs he would get like 2-3 a game. He doesn't seem to have the fast twitch burst from his legs he used to have.

Kawhi is averaging the second most steals in his career. Not sure exactly what you're seeing.

I've seen 70% of this year's Raptors regular season so far (for betting reasons and cause i follow the #1 seed race in the East).

Leonard's on ball defense is the same as it ever was,he's still commited on his man, alert, and a pest to iso against.

But his space defense has taken a hit,he is not covering lanes like he used to do here,he is caught unaware of the cuts to the basket and opponents movement many times.

Now i could say it's cause of the change in the system, new coach and all that stuff, but when you have a contract year Green as your SG and the vastly underrated in defense Siakam as your small ball PF there really is no excuse for that.

The eye test tells me Leonard is not putting in his 110% effort in defense like he used to,he is saving energy for offense. It what it is.

Averages are inflated when you miss a third of games before the AS break, tbh.

he basically wasted another yr of his prime not playing a full season games for mvp...

last year was also a weak year to win mvp and whatever awards, he couldve secured himself automatic supermax nominee had he played last year and manage to win mvp or all nba 1st team selection

Or maybe he's pretty good at getting steals.

half a season late, and this in a scenario where Murray got injured, Siakam probably would not have the same opportunities as in Toronto, agree or disagree, that's how it works in SA
White was injured too, letsnot forget about that and White is not as athletic as Siakam so he can help in other areas defensively for example from the get go. Kawhi missing lots of games is why Siakam gets so many opportunities to showcase what he's got. If Kawhi wasn't the that he is, Siakam would get less touches. Siakam was lucky in this case. Spurs way produces solid superstars, i would always go with what works, take the defensive approach first and then work your way up, thats the Pop way and i'm all about that. We happen to disagree here but its all good. Siakam would have the same and even better development here imo.

yes, my friend, it's all good, in no way is it a criticism of the way Spurs develops its players (they are the best in the business without doubts), I just believe that the approach of the two franchises is a bit different (however are not completely opposite, there are franchises that are much more aggressive in utilizing their rookies)

David was not in the Army, nor did he attend West Point.

I don't like his new shoes bc of the font they used on "new balance." It just doesn't match the flow of the shoe. Also the logo is whack. Need a new one. Overall though not bad for a first attempt at a bball shoe. Just need to tweak some stuff to make it wearable.

Good point! Yeah I wonder who buys them, as it's no telling where he is going? No Spurs fans and no Raps fan for uncertainty.

    Delusional

I’m sure you’d rather have Derozan on the team too
I want a franchise player that I actually like. Someone I can root for. Someone who is not so soft every time he gets a hangnail he needs two weeks off. Is that too much to ask for? Especially after Duncan..

You'd take it and you'd like it. outta here.
Spurs fans ed and moaned about Tony for like 15 years. And pretty much all he did was play his ass off, and help the team win 4 championships. Imagine the reaction to this clown and how soft he is? “Load management” It means that I miss 30 games this season. Yeah wonderful.

Truth is if we got Siakam, Pop wouldn't have given him the freedom he has in Toronto
Got damn you're a hater. Not sure I've seen a positive Spurs post from you since Kawhi left. If you're so anti-Spurs you might want to change affiliations. You're probably "cheering" for the wrong team.

I was at the ASG Practice and media day the other day. Had good seats about 5 rows behind court side. A few observations about # 2.
    1. It was funny to see him arrive with Uncle Dennis. Keep in mind outside of Wade/LMA bringing their sons none of the other players brought family members Shows again this guy is Uncle Dennis' property.
    2. LMA and #2 didn't talk to each other for most of the practice until they had to compete against each other in a Pop a Shot contest.
    3. LMA won the Pop a Shot contest and then both started talk to each other.

    This was the exchange:

LMA: Hey got, are you gonna do load management or are you actually gonna play for once?

    Kawhi: I'm telling my Uncle!!!

    LMA: STFU, !
