Zero board conservatives have checked in to denounce white supremacist violence.

Guilty minds? Online cred to protect?

Surely this is more newsworthy than Smollette.
Maybe it should be more newsworthy but for now it's not nearly as interesting as the Smollett story. It's at the top of most major news outlets, ahead of the crazy coast guard.

Yeah, an aggrieved middle aged bald white dude with an arsenal of guns, roids and opiods just isn't relatable to anything that's going on in the world today.

I never said it wasn't. I just explained why the Smollett story is dominating the headlines. It's more entertaining.

Being less entertaining is half the reason the white guys are aggrieved.

2012? There have only been mass shootings for seven years?

    Big news!
    Umm NO,
They just added more crimes to the database due to using the new Fed guidelines for minimum victim count to be considered a mass shooting issued in BINGO!!!2012
But you'd know that if you took the time to READ

so the whites benefit from including murders with fewer victims.

If that's what you want to crow about....

The relevant paragraph for the Twitter generation

Since 2012, Mother Jones has added 29 more mass-shooting events to its database (and tweaked its definition of the crime to fit with new federal guidelines that placed the threshold at three victims instead of four). In this bigger data set, the proportion of white mass shooters drops down to 56 percent, by my count. Judging by those newer numbers, and the most current census estimate that 76.9 percent of Americans are white, the whites-are-overrepresented-among-mass-shooters meme appears even less accurate. Perpetrators that Mother Jones classifies as Asian make up 7.4 percent of the data set, versus an estimated 5.7 percent of the population, while those MoJo identifies as black represent 17.0 percent of the mass shooters in the database versus an estimated 13.3 percent of the population. According to this data set, then, Asians and black Americans are overrepresented among mass shooters by about the same proportion (a bit more than one-fourth) that whites are underrepresented. This means the population rate of mass shootings by whites (at least according to the tiny sample measured in the MoJo database) is 0.021 per 100,000 people, while the corresponding rate of mass shootings by blacks is 1.7 times higher, at 0.037.
How about you quit strawmanning the thread.

I made zero claims about the racial breakdown of mass shootings. Your fact check is kinda off topic.

If we're going to talk about terrorist incidents in the US since 9/11, it's incontestable that white supremacist violence has been prevalent.

This data is a bit cherry picked. You're correct in that anyone who is honest with themselves would admit that African-Americans are disproportionately responsible for the amount of homicides in the country (whether that be single or multiple), but the type of "mass shooting" in question here isn't a black gangbanger killing three other gangbangers in a drive-by, but, for lack of a better term, "Columbine-style mass shootings," that seemingly target victims at random in public spaces. Any data on those specific type of shootings?

I denounce any acts of violence or calls to violence concerning terrorists. If they want to talk about their white supremacy that is protected under the 1st amendment.

The court do ent shows that it was a preoccupation with race and a nihilistic view that had no clear attachment to politics at all, outside of an unspecified antipathy for “liberalist/globalist ideology.

According to prosecutors, Hasson wrote in an email drafted June 2, 2017, “I am dreaming of a way to kill almost every last person on the earth,” though he lucidly acknowledged that he would likely need “the unwitting help of another power/country.” He faults “liberalist/globalist ideology” for “destroying traditional peoples esp[ecially] white” ones.
"No clear attachment to any political ideology at all!" Yeah, except for the one where he clearly "attaches" himself to faulting leftist political ideology for "destroying traditional white people," meaning he has a very clear white nationalist viewpoint. Why weren't any prominent conservatives and republicans on his hit list? Also, he wasn't a nihilist.

Trump supporter? Who knows. Probably. No doubt he was an extreme right-winger, a group who've gotten a lot more emboldened following the rise of Trump.

What if their "white supremacy" includes calls for outright genocide? Is that protected?

No one who is going to honestly and objectively see what he did write would think that he was anything but a Trump supporter. Kind of hard to reconcile Duke/Spencer -lands support for Trump in that regards.

Not all Republicans are racist, but most racists are Republican. The Venn diagram is pretty clear on that. The only real question is how big that "racist" circle is inside the "Republican" one.
