I'm not advocating for any kind of "religious/political dogma." That is simply a fallacy.
Not how it works. Your choices can indirectly affect others. Like take the average conservative who likes to eat a metric ton of meat and pie every year.* His poor dietary choices translates into increased health care costs for everyone. http://business.time.com/2009/07/09/...he-fat-people/
*not talking , conservatives are provably fatter than liberals:
https://medium.com/@Ben_Chapman/whos...ts-bb5bdf0555dEven when the researchers controlled for factors such as race and income, these results held. This evidence serves to strengthen the conclusion that Republicans are more likely to be obese than Democrats.

She's speaking to an audience that is questioning the ethics behind having children while supporting open borders for those that have loads of children.
god you're so trite.
The butterfly effect? Sounds like chaos theory.
Cause vs correlation
You're using a national output and dividing it by population, then assuming getting rid of the divisor will affect the dividend. Florida has more oranges per capita than Texas. If people move from Florida to Texas, will that affect the orange crop in Florida?
The pollution per capita would increase in the US if the poorest people left because they are the least of the consumers of energy and resources.
Children out of wedlock as well. She wants Chinese policies here in the United States, that is plain.
No. Like affecting others in the vein of second hand smoke or my obesity example. A person might think they're the only one affected by stuffing their face with triple cheeseburgers everyday, but an obese person is more expensive to medically treat and thus premiums get raised all around to cover costs.
Btw, DarrinS you never explained how industrial civilization varies in kind from an asteroid or a volcano in environmental impact.
You said they weren't alike
How are they different?
Besides volcanos and asteroids being episodic and industrial civilization being a mundane input that has been growing geometrically for the last 170 years?
Triple

Maybe a mandated quarterly physical would do the trick. If you're overweight, off to the rehabilitation center you go. Only one triple cheese burger per week could be implemented with the next wave of plastic straw bans.
When ice melts and it reveals humans and tools. What does tell you?
What does it tell you?
nowhere in that vid did she advocate for a one-child policy. She was simply asking a rhetorical question. I'll happily take bets on this, too. I bet we'll never see AOC formally propose one-child policy to become law. Perhaps she believes a one-child policy is right for her personal situation, but that's the extent of it. Any takers?
Natural things, like asteroids or volcanos are instant and catastrophic. Human influence is more subtle
It was once warmer than today
Why should I pay more for my health care to cover the costs of the fat guy who can't put the down the cheeseburgers and donuts? Isn't that how the conservative argument goes? You hate "paying for" the irresponsible choices of others.
Geometric growth of emissions isn't subtle.
The last 170 years of civilization do not compare with all preceding human history in scale, population, productivity and external impact.
If you don't get that, you're not paying attention.
We're in an interglacial bro
What's an interglacial, bro?
Cite your sources, bro.
Videos like this crack me up. No obvious questions asked
The per capita would increase but we would have a net decrease which will exceed the increase they will have in when they return to the countries they belong.
Seriously?
Yeah, man.
Tell us all what you mean.
I had no idea you were a climate scientist. Lay it on us.
