The only thing they can really hang Trump on as far as impeachment is that he wrote a check to Cohen after he was elected to reimburse Cohen for the bimbo payment. That could be interpreted as a campaign violation while he was in office and could technically fall under the "high crimes and misdemeanors" clause.
That's fine if true. Nothing ever hinged on it.
They'll argue that they were in essence post dated checks.
Before i get off, an underrated interaction was that one guy asking why cohen didn't come out and refute the buzzfeed article, and Cohen's response of "Trump lies a load should i go on and refute every one of those"
