Thanks for the grades! Yes with the exception of Patty we saw so good play. I think the moment White got benched in the first Patty was the target and they went right at him. Westbrook is relentless and when Patty tried to draw a charge it was a foul. Other than that, it was a great win!

I wonder if they told Mills he is next trades/bought out hence his very poor play?
It was kinda funny when at the end of the game pop pulled the starters and Mills thought he was part of that group but was told to get back out there with the 3rd stringers.

Forbes played a good game but I still liked he played only 26 minutes. I think he should never play 30+ minutes.

As for Poeltl+LA start I think it's reasonable only against certain matchups like a bad 3pt-shooting George-less OKC team.
Against OKC you actually want Westbrook, Schroder, Felton and Grant launch 3pointers. It's a smart defense against them if you can protect the basket.

In a series against Warriors or Rockets LA+Poeltl is a suicide.

The problem is that you start your only 2 centers. It is a gamble that personally I don't like much, even if it makes sense from the basketball point of view. We'll see if it was situational (and a psychological boost for Poeltl), or more of a regular starting five.
If this is the starting lineup, I think I like it. Poeltl starts alongside and plays the first 7 minutes of each half, before being subbed out by Gay with Aldrige sliding over and playing center.

Jakob comes back in around the two minutes left in the first and third quarter for Aldridge and then plays around the first five minutes of the 2nd and 4th with Aldridge likely closing the game at center. This allows for the Spurs three best defenders to play together for long stretches and then go smaller with more offensive minded units. It should help improve the Spurs defense while still being able to score efficiently.

I think against every other playoff team, it's a solid unit given that could actually stop teams. Spurs aren't likely to face GSW or Houston in the playoffs so it probably isn't a big deal.

the highlight of the last games is that Demar is playing more intelligent, ironically, the game in toronto was the beginning of this good sequence
Demar is much improved since that game. Playing within the confines of the offense, still playmaking and being very selective on calling his number. His man on man D is still a step slow but the offort is there on disrupting passing lanes and rebounding.

glad to see he reads spurstalk . Lol

White is so good. It's crystal clear how important is his impact on teams defense but what about the offense?

He not only runs the plays as needed but also drives the fastbreak well. He's a good playmaker an passer, plays off the ball correctly and can score in all the areas off the court and solves the possessions efficiently when the shot clock runs down.

Of course, he still turns the ball over too much and sometimes gets himself in trouble in random actions but hey, this is his real first year in the league... and he's playing the STARTING POINT GUARD position. Kudos to him.
