Which of those things that trump is trampling on

    like freedom of the press

emoluments/enriching himself - not separating his business interests

    None. Pretty easy.

We no more have to completely obviate cons utional rights to prevent child deaths from abuse than we have to completely obviate gun rights to prevent children from being killed with guns.

Do you think we have to completely remove gun rights to reduce gun deaths?

I think it is a very slippery slope. For example, if we pass gun legislation that requires a Federal "mental illness" certification the administration in power will be able to set those guidelines. If a Conservative is in power, they could say "anyone who supports killing unborn children is obviously mentally ill and doesn't qualify for a gun."

Should crazy people have access to things that are potentially dangerous (i.e. - guns, bombs, cars, knives, baseball bats)? Of course not. But I don't think the Federal Gov't should be able to say who is crazy or not.

    Slippery Slope
Slippery Slope is a specific type of logical fallacy. A logical fallacy is a flawed argument. There are many different types of logical fallacy. Slippery slope is one example of a fallacy. It is an argument that suggests taking a minor action will lead to major and sometimes ludicrous consequences.
So, no, we do not have to completely remove gun rights to reduce gun deaths.

    Happy to oblige.

That said, such a thing is not feasible. Too many brainwashed gun nuts in the country, no matter how badly they are twisting the amendment to mean what it does not, or how stupid of a mistake it was in the first place.

I am happy to compromise. Keep your right to own guns, but with some fair restrictions.

If you are convicted of domestic violence, no guns, ever.

If you are crazy, no guns.

If you want a gun, you have to get a background check, and wait.

Guns should be made less mass-shooting friendly. I am all for getting rid of semi-automatic rifles entirely, but will be happy with smaller magazines.

    No bump stocks.

    Fairly common sense stuff.

I can get on board with most of that, a few questions about execution:

If you are convicted of domestic violence, no guns, ever. - This is already a question that must be answered when buying a gun and filling out the required federal background check paperwork. How would you improve on that process?

If you are crazy, no guns. - What Federal department determines "Crazy?" Is the head of that department appointed by the President? Any potential pitfalls by having a politically appointed person in charge?

If you want a gun, you have to get a background check, and wait. - Is there a legally mandated maximum time for the wait? If not, is there potential for the Federal department approving background checks to effectively halt all gun sales by dragging out the wait times? Also, are people that have submitted additional paperwork and been through the background check process free to skip the wait on subsequent purchases (similar to a TSA- Pre check).

Guns should be made less mass-shooting friendly. I am all for getting rid of semi-automatic rifles entirely, but will be happy with smaller magazines. - Would you support banning 30 round magazines and limiting it to 10 rounds?

No bump stocks. - Bump stocks are pretty dumb. No additional questions on this one.

    Let's be accurate:

    (1) I don't care if you agree with me or not.

    (2) We have a proven criminal and a proven white supremacist who has ordered babies thrown in cages because of the color of their skin -
IF you still support this criminal racist - there is no other way to put it - you are supporting a criminal and a racist -

    so if the shoe fits...

    Let's be accurate...

You say I defend the POTUS. I don't. You keep saying I do. You're a liar. Not that I care or not, but you say these lies because I disagree with you're bat- tery fanaticism blue-loving cult mentality. You see only black and white becuase you're narrow minded.

Racists strongly believe the way they perceive a specific race to act is the only way they should act. Since I disagree with your bat- tery fanaticism, you have no problem trying to tell me how to act, just like a racist does.

You make racist statements, there's no other way to put it. You're a racist.

You try and group people together into one herd. You're narrow minded.

    Change your shoes, racist .

Enforcement for it is next to non-existent. We need to emphasize it. This potentially offers the most bang for the buck in terms of gun deaths because research studies have shown that domestic violence convictions are strong risk indicators for someone turning into a mass-shooter.

Mostly the same it is now. "crazy" being determined at the state level, by competent mental health professionals.
