Oh please at the OP and second post. Bowen owned Kobe's nuts from 03-07.

    1. Derek Fisher (" Head")
    2. Ray Allen ("Sissy")
    3. Jet Terry ("Ratface")

Now "THAT" is a legit shortlist, folks.

Dragitch went HAM that one game
These aren't correct, because they each refer to ONE game where the player killed us, but this thread is about those who were a special bone in our throats over many years...

Terry burned us in December '02 with the lowly Hawks when he beat us with a buzzer beating fadeaway over Timmy, then proceeded to KILL us in '06, and stung us in a handful of games beyond that, for the Mavs and later Rockets.

Ray Allen was the centerpiece of the Bucks' 6 game regular-season win streak against the Spurs from 00-02, then after he was traded to the Sonics he was a bigger problem for us, was a huge pain in the ass in '04-05 (especially the first two meetings that year, and the playoffs), ed to the league about Bowen, and ultimately would directly steal a ring from us (twice at the end of the same game) in '13.

Derek Fisher was an all-around asshole, and everyone who isn't a Lakers (or possibly OKC) fan would agree with this. Mavs and Jazz fans had the right to murder him, but on the court he was always the biggest problem for the Spurs above all. From the huge barrage of threes in the '01 and '02 series to the horrifying moment of 0.4 ... to his second stint with the Lakers to him burning us hard in the '12 playoffs, this bag takes the cake as the top Spurs killer of all time.

Danny Crawford wasn't a problem at all. Spurs had a roughly .750 win percentage, both regular season and playoffs, with Danny in charge. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. (The Suns and Mavs were the ones who had the issue with him, and especially the Mavs with Bennett Salvatore.)

In terms of refs, you have to go with Joey, Jack Nies, and Lou Grillo... those 3 were always out to get us and hated Timmy as if he raped their wives. Honorable mention to Tony Brothers who the Spurs had the lowest win % with in charge.

    14-2 in the playoffs

Those guys don't count. Stars in general don't count. They killed a LOT of people, not "especially" the Spurs.

I don't remember the stat exactly, but there was a stat that DC was basically unbeatable late in a series. He was a Stern go-to man.

    Kawhi Leonard.
    Richard Jefferson.
    Jackie Butler.

Kobe did a lot of damage over the years. Karl Malone/John Stockton did, too. I'd go with those three.

A couple of nice posts in this thread.

Nowadays in general, any random chucker who looks like a character in the NBA Showtime arcade can potentially kill the Spurs any given game.

Vernon Maxwell was an original Spurs Killer, then Jason Terry and finish it with Monta Ellis. All three of those guys played above their game against the Spurs, IMO

Honorable mention would be Mike Miller and Shane Battier

2 times on the exact same play in '05, walk-off buzzer beating layup off an offensive rebound. Both games in Utah. Utah was 26-56 that year.

Ray Allen, and prime Jet Terry, were second tier stars at best. Even '04-05 Ray Allen was a second tier star. He was Klay Thompson but with a *slightly* better dribble drive and somewhat worse on defense.

    Stockton/Malone killed us.
Magic swept us every year except like 83
and I'm going to say Dirk as the 3rd person. We had no answer for him in 2006 (which that and bad reffing cost us a le)

Thas' the damn truth. "Shadrach normally averages 6 points per game. He's got 22 in the first half." Lots of people having career nights against the Spurs in the last few years.

Who was that little 5'9" nobody-PG that looked like a All Star against the Spurs for a while? [Nate Robinson.]
JJ Barea just went ape against the Spurs more times than I'd like to remember.
Nut-Puncher loved to take it to the Spurs. People here will say he wasn't a star, but he averaged 30 MPG for 1,400 games. You don't stay in the league that long without being pretty damn good.

Fisher, Battier, Ray Allen, Terry. What makes 2014 even better was the Spurs ending 3 of those guys careers in one playoff run. Sending Fisher into retirement was especially satisfying.

Also lots of PGs that tend to give Spurs trouble despite how scrubby they usually are.

    Ish Smith
    Raymond Felton
    Devin Harris

LA and Derozan would also go off every time they played us before being Spurs

this true LA and derozan always goes off everytime the play the spurs before..lol

I second the threads that point to the "no name, nobodies" who own the Spurs on any given night. San Antonio probably ranks way up there on Scrubs career nights. Points, 3 pointers, Assists, Rebounds, Triple Doubles - It's all there.
