What a season! This is a f*****g rollercoaster. I thought we were done after Brooklyn's game, the team looked emotionally done. Somehow they recovered the good play and here they are playing the best defense of their season. I have no idea about what to expect for the upcoming games.

Yesterday Spurs executed beautifully the defensive plan. Quick transition D with at least two players in the paint in the way between Giannis and the rim. Aldridge putting his body between every Giannis penetration and the basket in order to force him to take a contested shot or make a contested outlet pass. Poetl being able to control Lopez but also help out in the paint. Small players perfectly positioned attacking drivers dribbling, crowding the paint and quickly going out to close out on shooters. Finally, not doubling on Bledsoe and Middleton 1on1 so Bucks couldn't get into his offensive rhythm.

This Spurs team doesn't have the personnel to play great defense but they were focused and disciplined yesterday. Milwaukee's 3rd game in 4 nights vs the 3 days of rest the Spurs enjoyed has to be considered a key of the game.

Also noticeable the best defensive game from Demar DeRozan as a Spur. Not very tested in 1on1 but good in transition D, very active in short helps vs dribbling and locked in p&r defense. He deflected, stole and contested more often than ever. A few more games like this before the season ends would be encouraging. Sadly, I won't be surprised by a bad defensive game from DeRozan in Dallas as Rome wasn't built in a day. Step by step.

Thanks timvp! the spurs found out that it is better to guard Gianis with a big guy because he is going hard to the rim almost all the time. LA guarding him made him exert effort to bang with LA and was also bothered by the shot blocking presence of LA. Credit to the whole team for playing good team defense. This shows that the Spurs could compete with the best teams in the league

Muchisimas gracias for the grades! A great win by any measure! I felt good about going into the game with our recent four game run. However with Rudy out and the Bucks great season there were no guarantees. The team paced themselves and keep coming at them...especially Gasol. Gotta do what ya gotta do. They should bring some mojo into the Dallas game!!

A lot of teams have tried to defend Giannis with a big guy! Utah with Gobert, the Nets with Allen,Kings with Stein etc.He was dunking all over them.

It only works if the big guy is build like a tank and tries his best to stay mobile and in the right defensive positioning.Huge props to LMA,when he is focused he is a joy of a big man to watch.

There may be some slight sarcasm in my posts directed towards Chinook
Chinook is an idiot who acts smart cause all he relies on is numbers. So to defeat his ass in a discussion you would have to dig up a bunch of video material, which nobody has the time to do. It's much easier to go to bballref and copy numbers. That's what he does

Chinook is far from an idiot in my opinion bruh. He is clearly above average intelligence and a pretty informative poster most of the time. With that said, he does become stubbornly locked into numbers and his takes at times, but then again, we are all guilty of that in one way or another.

Agreed. When he is on, the dude elevates this team a great deal and it is definitely more entertaining to watch. It seems he isn't a whiny vag anymore which is also good.
