NBA league office allowed this to escalate by not punishing players last season for grabbing mobile phones.

Stop it, that go back where you came from is racist
And using the word racial does not mean the same as racist...
Why does this guy getting banned bother you so much?
HE doesn't do the interview he doesn't face the backlash... If he apologized before his tweets and other surfaced he could still attend the games and heckle Russ. But since their two best players are black as is 80% of NBA...they banned his ass.
My work is probably 20% gay and lesbian I make phobic slurs I'd get fired.
He should have never done that interview

Westbrook makes himself a target by constantly chirping at fans and opponents during the games. His skin is as thin as his former teammate Durant.

So basically he made the target that was already on his back 10x bigger. What a moron. These guys kill me. Their narcissism fuels their desire to be the divas that they are, but if the press or fans ask a question, or make a negative comment, they just want to "focus in basketball."

You can't have it both ways. If these guys aren't coddled by the media, and protected by the team and their entourage, they go into meltdown mode.

We don't even know what was said, and many current players and former players who are now analysts on TnT have come out in droves to support Westbrook. I keep hearing things like "players have feelings too" and if somebody says something like the fan allegedly said, "you can't blame a guy for wanting to defend himself."

Funny thing is, many of these guys have been openly vocal in their criticism toward law enforcement, saying cops need to control their emotions...separate themselves from it. So these jokers make millions of dollars per year and can't take flak off of some moronic fans, but somehow many of these prima donna's ridicule those making 50k per year, who get treated far worse by the populous. Hipocrisy at its finest.

I have no doubt there are some fans, especially in Utah, that act like dung heaps. When these fans cross that line, their behavior should not be condoned by anyone, but do we really want to condone the reactionary behavior of Westbrook as a result? Is this the message kids need to get from adults? And we wonder why so many people can't cope with everyday stress, and thus go off the deep end and react by doing insane things.

When asked about the situation, Candace Parker said those fans just motivated her more. Parker undoubtedly has a less fragile ego than Westbrook.

We have become a nation of softies, but what's new.

I guess I am still spoiled by the past behavior of somebody like TD. With TD there were no false pretenses. He was who he projected himself to be.

All the bull politics aside, Russel Westbrook had every right to say something back.

Don't even see what the problem is here tbh.

In Quebec Canada in the semi pro hockey. Some fans were making monkey and banana comments at a player and his family. The security actually asked the players family to move so that the other fans can enjoy the game.

The player was upset and didn’t react in the game. He fans were rooted out and there are investigations going on.

That is an example of how to handle a situation.

The Westbrook situation isn’t a case where the fan is right or Westbrook is right. Both of them are heaps of manure.

The world doesn’t really work that way. There are people who are racist and that’s just the way it is. To say that they are not en led to the same liberties as other non racist people is in and of itself discriminatory.

the outta here with that bull racism has no part in our society and we won't tolerate it. The real question is why racist seem to be infatuated with sports dominated by African American athletes? Sounds like a cuck to me.

African-american athletes are the most vocal socially & politically.

I wonder how you would react to an Abdul-Rauf today. If he reacted to black hecklers by accusing them of being warmongering extremists

Not saying it has a place. It’s disgusting but it exist. But there are protocols to deal with it. Threatening to beat a man and his wife isn’t. Still not sure what the guy said. One side said get on your knees. The other said he needs to ice his knees.
