So we just do a worldwide ban on guns, big trucks (small trucks too), explosives, sharp and blunt objects. Did I miss anything?
personally i'm fine with starting with the go-to weapon of choice for the mass shootings, high capacity semi auto rifles

OK, so we start with that. Where does it end for you?

you go with the obvious solution in front of you at the time. right now, i dont see how regulating sharp/blunt objects, explosives, big trucks (small trucks too) are going to put a dent on mass murders. they're almost exclusively done with high capacity semi auto rifles. those are simply the easiest and most effective way of accomplishing mass murder... precisely why they're the predominant weapon of choice

otherwise you're just asking me to hold your hand and walk you through your own slippery slope

Sorry...this was definitely much easier with a larger kill count: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Nice_truck_attack

Republicans make such an intellectually dishonest argument when it comes to gun control, acting like pocket knives will be outlawed because of “slippery slope”. Stop being intentionally obtuse, there’s no way you’re really that dumb

nice attack was devastating, and yeah when you have large clumps of people walking on the streets in an organized parade/march, thats probably as good a weapon as you're going to find. but those situations are usually protected with barricades around the perimeter of the organized march. that's just a very narrow/specific cir stance. if large trucks really were the best way to get mass murders done, generally, we'd simply see them used a lot more. instead, people tend to defer to high capacity semi auto rifles nearly every time. that's not just some coincidence. a large truck isn't going to work in schools, movie theaters, malls, churches, office buildings, concert venues... the places where these mass murders tend to happen

It's happening in the UK. Turn off MSNBC and look out the window.

So just the rifle ban? You said "starting", so I figured you were going somewhere else but you decided to go off on a tangent.

Guess who stopped the mosque attacks in NZ? A good guy with a gun. Your argument will never have any legs to stand on.

if heavy regulation or outright bans on high capacity semi auto rifles significantly curbed the number of these senseless mass murders (either by decreasing attempts or average casualty counts), then you might not need anything further. i dont think its a realisitc goal to completely eliminate a type of crime. but the rate at which these mass shootings are happening is simply unacceptable as is.

Nothing false about it. The Quran is quite clear on that point.

But thanks for confirming that you have no real interest in "underlying issues".

Either way, I really feel bad for all the people in NZ. I'm sure one or two of them were wishing they were concealed carrying when they were all huddled in the corner and saying " o brother"...

It is a fact that gun-homicide rates decrease as gun ownership increases.

Can’t compare U.K. to us on the subject of gun culture. That’s irrelevant as I’m sure you know

So your honest belief is that liberals want to take away innocent civilian’s guns? Is that anything like the “stop and frisk” approach trump has shown admiration for

i'm sure all of them were wishing that the perp didnt have a high capacity semi auto rifle

personally, 10/10 times i'd prefer that there wasn't an active shooter in my building as opposed to having an active shooter in the building while i have my conceal carry weapon on me

I wouldn't doubt that many of them were on board with islamic subjugation of kafir. If you don't think so, your head is firmly lodged way up your ass.

Yeah...I've learned in life that the only peoples actions you can control are your own. That is true in business and life in general. Always be prepared...

We have highest rate of gun homicides of advanced countries
Without looking at the numbers, I would say that most of those homicides occur in blue cities with excessive gun regulation such as Chicago.
