umm... wasn't that exactly the point of the US revolution? take the power and wealth away from the crown and give it to the people? no taxation without representation, etc

i'll agree that the economic aspect is a bit more of a stretch when making that comparison, but i dont think its invalid altogether. colonists were being unfairly taxed compared to people living in england. they fought for representation (democracy) to level the playing field

You want to penalize people for hoarding wealth. That's absolutely ludicrous.

"Cmon kids vote for me! We're gonna change the legal voting age to 16 and I'll upgrade your Obama phone to an iPad shipped directly from China! Once we eliminate the Electoral College we will never lose an election again! Diversity is our strength!"

    Pure emotive prose.

    That’s not an answer.

If 16 year olds can go to big boy jail for their actions, why can’t they vote?

Seems there are varying, more or less arbitrary, legal definitions of adult responsibility.

I'm sure you were cognizant of worldly affairs and all the corruption that exists within politics at age 16. I bet you had it all figured out and knew which candidates were the good ones that aligned with your policies. So refined and mature humans beings at age 16.

So why not draw the line at at 16?

    Criminal justice does.

    You’ve explained nothing.

What is it 18 year olds have that 16 year olds don’t?
