Poor free throw shooting?
We were on a second of a back to back too.. But yeah I understand what you mean. Theirs was tougher and they had to travel a bit.
Poor free throw shooting?
We've been missing our starting PG the entire season. We missed the key player in the second half of the season Derrick White for many games. We were missing Rudy Gay who is also important, DerMarr. I mean, if you want to and moan, go ahead.
Dude, that rascal guy is a troll that has been hating on the Spurs on this board for as long as I've been around, and that's over 10 years. Don't even dignify an answer.
Great win!
Go back a few games ago. We had just lost 7 of 8. On the verge of missing the playoffs. Looking forward to the next 10 games, this game was penciled in as a loss by almost every fan at that time.
8 games later, we are on an 8 game winning streak with possibility of getting 6th , 5th or even 4th seed. Amazing.
So yeah. Great win!!
Exactly all these fans on here were calling this a loss for days but when they win it's always an excuse to justify why they won. Then when you call that crap out you get called a homer.
You should make a thread about it, imho.
People still haven't adjusted their expectations. A win versus a top-half playoff team is a really good win. A loss versus a borderline-playoff team on the road isn't a bad loss. We're well past the days where we could expect the Spurs to win away against elite teams and beat borderline teams with multiple starters missing. This team has lower-seed talent, and whenever they do something that can elevate them beyond where their talent should place them, it's worth comment.
McCollum was out. So was Murray. Both teams healthy, the Spurs would be absurdly equipped to check the Blazers. Stop complaining.
If only we could still have Pau to anchor things up, tbh.
Great win, hilarious to see the same whiny es complaining about a multiple-possession win over one of the two teams we need to bounce in the standings to get HCA in the first round.
Of course we're not a perfect team, we added a ball dominant fringe all-star to replace unarguably a top 5 player in the league AFTER an entire season of drama and bull . Then we lost multiple veterans including one who anchored our bench unit and was the clear leader of the team after TD left. Then we lost our main PG who was on pace to have a true break out season.
People here are so bizarre.
Lower seed talent that you want them to keep next season? Don't get me wrong, I want them to keep most guys but I also want to get back to those days you referenced earlier. To do that, we need to make some changes in the offseason.
You're obsessed with getting rid of Forbes, beyond the point where it's weird. Legit upgrading from him would be fine. Thinking that rookies or guys who can't shoot instantly improves the team is not. Bryn has played 25 minutes in each of the last seven games, all wins. The team rises and falls completely independently of his contribution. They aren't a lower-seed talent because of him. It's because they lack a third star and aren't seasoned enough to play well on the road. Trades that fix that issue make a ton of sense to me. Taking away a solid rotation guard without letting him compete for a spot and without any proven replacement just for shiggles doesn't seem as interesting.
nice win. maybe the best win in our winning streak
Once you start with ad hominem, your argument fails. Show me the numbers that prove Forbes is a solid rotation guard. By the way, you're moving the goal posts because he's a starter and you've advocated to keeping him as one.
So let me understand this. With all these so called hacks on the squad and no DJM they are what 2-3 games out of third? But yet people want to clean house? Whose coming in? Players lining up to sign in San Antonio?
Is OKC considered lower seed talent? Don't tell RB he might come into the stands. This team without KL is going to have more wins than last year. Sorry not everyone can be GSW
That's not an ad hominem. Anyways, Forbes is within the top 75 or so guards in RPM. He was in the top 30 PGs when I looked earlier in the year, but it's been long enough to alter those results. He had a negative score back then, but that's pretty normal for guards, so it would be misleading to suggest that makes him a net negative.
Chinook said we have lower seed talent. I think only a couple players we have belong on a lower seed/non-playoff team.
You basically attacked my psyche regarding Forbes so yes, it is ad hominem. And you still haven't provided sufficient numbers to prove he belongs as a starter for a team you believe has lower seed talent. I've provided plenty of numbers that prove he doesn't deserve to start. , his PER is akin to a non-rotation level. But now, you're trying to read RPM and grade it on a curve. lol. When you factor in minutes played, he has the 4-6th worst RPM amongst all guards that play 28 or more minutes per game. The other players in that group are either out of the playoffs or a lower seed. Within the top 75?That's like saying a kid who had an F in math in a class of 30 is within the top 30 at math of his class.
They don't lack a third star, they lack better 1st and 2nd stars. Maybe White can become that next season.
Lol spurs win by multiple possessions...2. We've been without djm whole season so its nothing we've had to adjust for since preseason unlike a team who loses somebody mid game
