Well this thread has turned into gun debate, again.

    Never change spurstalk.
Gun debate will remain a core issue in any potential solution going forward to curb these attacks. If we want to stop these events, it's going to take a multi-prong approach that considers mental heath treatment, gun control, media reportage (I agree infamy is a primary motivator for these killers. TSA is right that the media should just report the facts and go dark), examination of extremist communities that seem to incubate these monsters, and so forth.

Actually, the 2009 backlash caused Obama to ditch LE scrutiny of white power formations.

How does failing to scrutinize them seem to be working out so far?

All y'all Muslim haters are pleased that 50 Muslims are dead by one of your fellow haters

The only good Muslim is a dead Muslim, right?.

But you're too chicken PC to admit, even here anonymously

Too bad we've got cops instead of mental health professionals and social workers doing triage on mental patients.

Didn't used to be the case.

You mean LE no longer employs comprehensive surveillance of these groups, like say, compared to the Mafia?

Talked to a Muslim today from Syria, he owns a liquor store. He gives me a deal on AA.

    Avant....nice day today, huh?
    Owner....nice.
    Avant....what's it like in Syria?
Owner....like here, it depends on where in Syria.
Avant....what did you think of that New Zealand mess?
Owner....it will get worst, and we brought it on ourselves, those of us not involved in radical Islam doing nothing. We need to have a voice in all this and we don't. We are too quiet.

I can understand how anyone who knows the Quran could think......they are out to rid the world of non Islam........that really is what the Quran is all about. But how many really know what Islam is really all about?

The word....PUNISH....has got to be there 1000 times.

I'll try to dig up the links, but in 2009 the right wing backlash chased Obama off the ball. Can't speak for the states, but the DHS operation got cashiered.

He shouldn't have guilt by association. Nor I'm sure what the non-violent Islamic community can do to address radical Islam? It's like saying your garden variety American Christian Republican needs to do something about Right Wing terrorism. This is as much a psychological problem as anything else. These are psychopaths looking for an excuse to kill, and they found their cause in some extremist ideology, whether that be right wing extremism, leftist extremism, religious extremism.

and today, not a single person at DHS is dedicated solely to right-wing extremism, Johnson tells The Daily.

I'm going to guess DMC and TSA want to do absolutely nothing about gun violence unless it has something to do with hassling nonwhites.

"Imprecise phraseology" doomed it. Daryl Johnson wasn't a partisan, and in fact was not focused on right wing extremism exclusively or even predominantly, but included it in the panoply of domestic threats.

Too much for snowflake Republicans, alas.

To be fair, on the previous page TSA included "access to guns" on the list of factors associated with the e in mass shootings.

GWB ordered the report, but by the time it was issued, POTUS was black and therefore the report was not to be trusted.
